CRIME & INVESTIGATION – Tuesdays from 17 April, 7.30pm

Aftermath examines the cases of murder and manslaughter and looks at the impact upon the families and the community. The series hears from family members about the devastation left behind by the loss of a loved one, and learns from experts what can be done to curtail crime in 21st century society. Each episode focuses on a different aspect of murder. Victims can be in the wrong place at the wrong time, such as the son who was killed with a broken bottle in Limerick and the brutal murder of a Swiss student in Galway. Then there are the unsolved murders, shown by the brutal killings of Roanaid Murray, Sophie Toscan Du Plantier and Meg Walsh. Finally, the notorious domestic murders of Rachel O’Reilly and Siobhan Kearney, with an episode examining what drives men to kill their own wives.
