Jackson was the last remaining member of the original judging panel that consisted of Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul.

“Yo! Yo! Yo! To put all of the speculation to the rest, after 12 years of judging on American Idol I have decided it is time to leave after this season,” he told E! News. “I am very proud of how we forever changed television and the music industry. It’s been a life changing opportunity but I am looking forward to focusing on my company Dream Merchant 21 and other business ventures.”

A 40-minute finale special of The IT Crowd is being planned for later this year. Graham Linehan – the series creator – announced the news during a Q&A session at a digital conference this week.

The Office finale to run 75 minutes

Krasinski promises satisfying Office ending

The Office’s John Krasinski has promised a “satisfying” end to his character Jim’s marriage to Pam (Jenna Fischer). “I remember Greg [showrunner] saying, very smartly, that we have to give the audience something as far as trying to see a light at the end of the tunnel. But I don’t think it necessarily answers all the questions as to how they’ll solve it. There’s a romantic hope that everything will be OK at the end of that episode.
