First it was the Warriors games, and now it is the Netball.  It would seem as though Sky are carefully removing Prime from being the free-to-air broadcaster of these sports and reducing their availability.  This appears to be an obvious move to drive subscribers to Sky Sport.

Maori Television has confirmed a deal with SKY to screen the 2014 ANZ Championship free-to-air on the Te Reo Channel from March 4.

In a first for New Zealand television, the Maori language channel will screen delayed coverage of one game from each round of the 17-week competition, including the finals, on Tuesday nights at 8.30pm.

ANZChampionshipFox Sports in Australia has confirmed that they will air every match of the netball’s upcoming ANZ Championship, meaning kiwi audiences will be able to watch their team’s away games on Sky TV.

The eleventh-hour announcement comes as Sky TV were contemplating flying staff to Australia to cover the matches there so kiwi audiences could watch games that involve NZ teams.

Fox Sports confirmed in a press release today that they will cover all 69 matches.
