Australia’s Next Top Model screens in New Zealand at 7:30pm on Four.

Four last night began screening the 8th series of Australia’s Next Top Model.  I love this show and we’re getting it only 2 weeks behind Australia!  Unfortunately only 28,870 saw it last night but it’s a great show and my favourite of all the Top Model franchises.

 

Twitter victim, Charlotte Dawson, tonight revealed the ferocity of the death threats that she recieved in a paid interview with 60 Minutes Australia. The 46 year old New Zealand native, ended up in hospital after she tweeted “you win x” with a picture of a hand holding tablets at 2.07am on Wednesday night. Her attempt at suicide highlights the severity of cyber bullying.

Production company sacked over Top Model gaffe

The production company behind Australia’s Next Top Model has been sacked following the live finale gaffe that saw the wrong winner named. The show’s host and executive producer Sarah Murdoch has reportedly instigated the move, saying it was “probably time for a change.”

Grey wins Dancing with the Stars

Former Dirty Dancing actress Jennifer Grey has been crowned the winner of the latest season of Dancing with the Stars in the US, beating out a Disney actor and the daughter of Sarah Palin in the finale. Grey, who appeared alongside the late Patrick Swayze in Dirty Dancing, was the favourite throughout the competition which also featured the likes of David Hasselhoff and The Hills’ Audrina Patridge.

Momsen’s absence for “creative reasons”

Gossip Girl producers have confirmed that while Taylor Momsen’s part has been cut down on the drama series, the actress “isn’t going anywhere.” They have underlined that her absence is for “creative reasons” as opposed to issues with the actress herself who has been accused of being difficult to work with on set.

Ugly Betty actor arrested for murder

A former Ugly Betty actor has been charged with stabbing his mother to death with a 1-metre sword in New York. 31-year-old Michael Brea, who had a small part in Ugly Betty and film Step Up 3D, was arrested at the scene.

Created by world-renowned supermodel Tyra Banks and based on 3’s hit reality series America’s Next Top Model, Australia’s Next Top Model will premiere Monday, March 10th at 11:50pm on 3.

This new reality competition series will chronicles the transformation of everyday young women into potentially fierce supermodels.

The participants will live together and compete for a multi-faceted Grand Prize package of an eight-page spread in Cleo magazine, a Napoleon cosmetic campaign, representation from CHIC Model Management, and a trip to Milan – where the winner will meet with a renowned Fashion agency.
The Australia’s Next Top Model cameras will catch each moment as the participants face weekly tests that will determine who makes the cut, and ultimately who will be the next beauty to grace the covers of the world’s leading fashion magazines.

Australia’s Next Top Model will be hosted by Erika Heynatz, and judges for this season will include fashion designer and former model booker Alex Perry; celebrity fashion stylist Ken Thompson; former Harper’s Bazaar managing editor Marguerite Kramer; fashion photographer Georges Antoni; and fashion industry guru Victoria Fisher.

In this week’s premiere episode our ten wanna-be models arrive in Sydney for the experience of a lifetime. The girls are met by host Erika Heynatz at Rose Bay’s renowned Catalina restaurant where they are thrown right in the deep end of the modelling pool with an impromptu Alex Perry fashion show.
This will sure prove to be a far cry from the glamorous lunch the girls were expecting, make sure to catch all the backstage chaos as the models prepared for their first show!
