We return to New Caprica where the Cylons invaded and took over. With the Humans and Cylons living under a fragile peace treaty. Can the two exist together or will the resistance crusade succeed.

Battlestar Galactica on C4

The wait is finally over. After much anticipation, Battlestar Galactica returned to US television last week to conclude its fourth and final season.  In New Zealand, this fourth season – promoted as “the final revelation” – will premiere on C4 this February.  In the US this final season, has been broken in two parts – partly due to the writers strike.  In New Zealand the entire season will run without break.

The premise of Battlestar is based around humanitys fight for survival against their own creation – the Cylons – a race of partially human robots, originally created as something of a workforce – who have rebelled against their masters.  To make matters worse – the Cylons now take the shape and form of humans – and interact convincingly both emotionally – and sexually.

At the end of Season 3 – 4 of the “Final Five” (the remaining Cylon humanoid models) were revealed to be Colonel Saul Tigh, Chief Galen Tyrol, Ensign Samuel Anders and presidential aide Tory Foster.  Shocked to discover their true identities, after believing they were humans for so long – all 4 have decided to remain loyal to the Colonial Fleet.

With 4 of the “Final Five” revealed – the question remains this season “Who is the final Cylon?”  Producers promise that all will be revealed.

Meanwhile, Starbuck returns from the dead – and claims to have found planet earth.  But is it really Starbuck….or a Cylon trick?  And should she be believed?  Humans dream of finding “Earth” – the 13th colony. And most Battlestar fans hope that in this final season, the humans will reach their salvation on planet Earth. But what will they find there if they do?

Battlestar Galactica is one of the TV’s most smartest series – revolutionizing science fiction on television.  The new season premieres with a two part episode “Razor” chronicling events on Battlestar Pegasus.

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA – THE FINAL REVELATION – premieres Friday February 13th at 8.30pm

“Thus begins the final season of a cerebral space opera that asks what it means to be human” TIME Magazine.

“what was conceived of as an epic space adventure has turned into a finely detailed, intimate drama” San Francisco Chronicle.

“Simply put, the journey of Battlestar Galactica is one long, exhilarating headtrip”, TV Guide

Yay, Season 4 of Battlestar Galatica is nearly here (but sadly it’s the last season, right?). There’s a promo out already:
