Black Books

After his 2010 tour sold out, it comes as no surprise that our favourite UK comedian, Bill Bailey has had to add two extra nights to his NZ tour of Qualmpeddler.

Audiences in Wellington will be getting an extra dose of Bill on the 29th September with Auckland’s second hit coming October 4th.

With all the trademark Bailey elements, Qualmpeddler will have the musical mash-ups, twisted logic, some political ranting, brilliant visuals and animation, a clear-eyed yet surreal view of the modern world, plus some new explorations of language inspired by a trip to China, where Bill’s experiences were strangers than surreal. British comic, actor and musician Bill Bailey returns down under late September with his brand new live show, Qualmpeddler.

Bill Bailey’s new show – Qualmpeddler – has all the trademark Bailey elements, musical mash-ups, twisted logic, some political ranting, brilliant visuals and animation, a clear-eyed yet surreal view of the modern world, plus some new explorations of language inspired by a trip to China, where Bill’s experiences were strangers than surreal.

Bill is best known to New Zealand audiences for his stand up shows and his work on television in shows such as QI and TV’s award winning hit, BLACK BOOKS, in which he played the increasingly deranged ex accountant Manny Bianco opposite fellow comic, Dylan Moran. Continue reading »

Hot off news earlier this week that British funny man Dylan Moran has announced a second Auckland show, news has come from promoters that a second Wellington show will now be taking place – Saturday 27th August 2011 – due to popular demand.

Tickets for this second Wellington show will be on sale from Thursday 30th June through TICKETEK.

Due to high public demand, British funnyman Dylan Moran has now added a second Auckland date on his 2011 Yeah, Yeah New Zealand tour.

Moran will now play Auckland’s ASB Theatre for an encore performance on Thursday 25th August – and with his first show having sold fast, there should be no reason to delay picking up tickets through 0800 BUY TICKETS or www.buytickets.co.nz!

Dylan Moran, star of ‘Black Books’, ‘Shaun of the Dead’ and ‘Run Fat Boy Run’, is about to spread a little happiness when he returns to New Zealand with a brand new tour for 2011 YEAH, YEAH.

Ageing, religion, kids and relationships intertwine with the general absurdities of life.

Searing observations and sumptuous imagery, painted across a large fraying canvas with cruel, curmudgeonly ‘Moranesque’ brush strokes and all delivered with Dylan’s renowned, shambolic charm…It’s simply Unmissable.

This will be Dylan’s fourth New Zealand tour – the previous three were totally sold out shows, so it is advised to book early.

Perrier Award winner MORAN has had huge success as both a writer and performer. He received a BAFTA and a Bronze Rose of Montreux for his TV sitcom BLACK BOOKS.

His film career has included the smash hit ‘Rom-Com-Zom’ SHAUN OF THE DEAD, RUN FATBOY RUN and A FILM WITH ME IN IT.

MORAN’S stand up shows have sold out across the world. Throughout the US, Europe and Australasia MONSTER, LIKE TOTALLY and WHAT IT IS have cemented this unkempt wordsmith’s reputation as one of the foremost comics of his generation earning him the label of ‘The Oscar Wilde of Comedy’.
