Bones

8:30pm – Sunday, March 28 on TV 3

It’s the on-screen pairing Bones fans have been waiting for. No, not Booth and Bones – Emily and Zooey! This week sees (500) Days of Summer star Zooey Deschanel joining her sister Emily Deschanel when she guest stars in Bones, screening on Sunday, March 28th at 8:30pm on 3.

Other than a passionate Booth/Bones kiss, Bones fans have looked forward to few things more than the possibility of Emily Deschanel’s sister and fellow actress Zooey guest starring on the show.

Although fans may still have a while to wait for the kiss, the wait is now over when it comes to Zooey. Zooey will be joining big sister Emily in this week’s Bones’ annual Holiday episode, title “The Goop On The Girl”.

In the first-ever on-screen pairing of the Deschanel sisters, Zooey will play Margaret Whitesell, a distant relative of Emily’s Dr. Temperance Brennan.

“[Zooey] will play Brennan’s closest blood relative, not counting her dad or her brother – one that she hasn’t met before,” Bones executive producer Hart Hanson explains to Channel Guide magazine.

Not only does the episode see the introduction of Zooey’s Margaret, Emily Deschanel says that the family-oriented instalment might just change the relationship between Bones and Booth.

“The episode brings up a lot of questions for Booth and Brennan,” Emily explains. “Brennan opens up and has a new level of compassion that you’ll see in the episode. I think any time characters have a breakthrough on some level, that either Booth or Brennan has some kind of breakthrough, then that brings both of us together.”

“So Booth holds her hand through that,” Emily continues. “I think when you go through something, it changes you, it’s profound in a way. And if somebody is there helping you, that brings you closer together. I think that’s definitely what happens in this episode.”

As for Zooey making this a recurring guest role, the sisters say even though nothing has been confirmed, future episodes of Bones may see a lot more of the young Deschanel.

“I don’t die at the end of the episode,” explains Zooey. “I think it’s open-ended for a reason,” adds Emily. “We’ll see. It took us five seasons to figure out when Zooey could come on the show, and it may take five more seasons.”

In the mean time, make sure not to miss a Deschanel Christmas when Zooey Deschanel guest stars in Bones, screening on Sunday, March 28th at 8:30pm on 3.

8:30pm – Sunday, March 14 on TV 3

The Waltons star Ralph Waite, who played John Walton on the long running series, is joining David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel when he guest stars as Booth’s grandfather in Bones, screening on Sunday, March 14th at 8:30pm on 3.

“This is an important role and when Ralph’s name came up we were thrilled,” executive producer Stephen Nathan tells Buddy TV. “It’s remarkable to see someone at that age so vital.”

And that’s a good thing, as it sounds like Ralph will need to be spry, considering his character will insist on accompanying his grandson out into the field.

“This is a really good murder,” Nathan explains. “All that’s left is ash and one foot, and Hank can’t help but tag along.”

The episode kicks off with Hank, recovering from a bypass, leaving a nursing home after getting into physical altercations with his male nurses.

“He walks out and comes to live with Booth, whom he raised,” says Nathan. “They’ll try to rekindle the life they had for so many years, but you can never quite reclaim the past.”

Audiences will also learn the reasons behind Booth’s abusive father abandoning his son at age 11.

“Booth’s father had some issues, and we’re going to find out more about how painful it was for me growing up with that man,” Boreanaz explains. “My grandfather was a much nicer person!”

Boreanaz also hopes the revelation of these Booth family secrets will lead NYPD Blue veteran Dennis Franz out of retirement.

“I want Dennis Franz to play my dad,” he says. “He’d be perfect for Booth’s dad. I would love to make this happen.”

However, unfortunately for Boreanaz, Nathan says Bones is only planning to cast Booth’s father at a much later date. “You can’t introduce too many relatives at once,” he says.

Make sure not to miss the first of these Booth relatives when Ralph Waite guest stars in Bones, screening on Sunday, March 14th at 8:30pm on 3.

8:30pm – Sunday, March 7 on TV 3

A troubled Booth (David Boreanaz) pays a visit to Sweets (John Francis Daley) in this week’s action-packed Bones, continuing its latest season on Sunday March 7th at 8:30pm on 3.

Since his debut, Dr. Lance Sweets has always played an important part in Booth’s life, especially with regard to his relationship with Brennan (Emily Deschanel). He first took interest in them as their therapist and then later made them the subjects of his book, which concludes that Booth and Brennan are in love with each other.

The young doctor also intervened just as Booth was about to tell Brennan that he’s in love with her, believing that Booth’s attraction was just the result of the alternate world he experienced during his coma.

When Zap2it.com recently asked if fans are giving Sweets’ portrayer, John Francis Daley, a difficult time for being the one responsible for putting off Brennan and Booth’s relationship, Daley revealed:

“Absolutely. Because everyone can clearly see the sparks between the two of them. And it is frustrating for my character to put a wrench in those gears. But I think the truth [of Booth's feelings] will eventually prevail. Who knows, maybe if they had told each other that they loved each other back then, it wouldn’t have worked.”

On the other hand, Sweets will play yet another catalyst in the Booth-Brennan storyline through the release of his book, which will be featured in Bones’ 100th episode.

“They definitely have issues with [the book],” Daley explains. “There are things in the book that are way off according to them. And that’s what sort of launches us into that flashback of six years earlier.”

“[They want] to fill me in on what I was wrong about in terms of their relationship and how they first met,” Daley continues.

“It’s fun for me, because I get to hear it from them first hand, their first impressions of each other.”

Make sure not to miss the lead up to this when Bones continues on Sunday March 7th at 8:30pm on 3.

8:30pm – Sunday, January 24 on TV 3

Bones fans, the wait is finally over! The hit series returns tonight for its highly anticipated fifth season, picking up six weeks after Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) last saw each other. While Booth has been recovering from brain surgery, Brennan has been on a dig in Guatemala. Will it be a happy reunion? Find out when Bones returns on Sunday, January 24th at 8:30pm on 3.

“Everyone is aware that once you get the two characters together you lose the glue that holds the show together, which is that sexual tension,” Deschanel explains about what many fans are expecting to be the season where Booth and Brennan finally get together.

“I think they are being very careful about how to move forward without destroying that tension,” she adds.

Deschanel also reveals part of season five’s guest-star line-up. According to the actress, Stephen Fry will be back, and Deschanel’s sister Zooey Deschanel may also be stopping by the Bones set one of these days.

“[Zooey] is interested in being on the show, and I know [Bones executive producer] Hart Hanson would love to have her on the show. It’s just a matter of finding time where she’s available,” Deschanel explains.

“It’s very difficult because she’s always working as an actor or touring as a musician or recording. She’s very busy. So just getting the time together to get her to work on Bones has been difficult, but hopefully by the end we will have her on the show.”

But before that time, a very famous lady rock star will be joining the Bones cast in this week’s season five opener – none other then Cyndi Lauper!

“I sang ‘Girls Just Want to Have Fun’ in one episode. She saw it and was interested in being in the show,” Deschanel explains about the star’s guest role. “She was an idol from when I was a child, so I will probably be beside myself that day.”

And that day is now! Make sure not to miss Cyndi Lauper when she guest stars in the season premier of Bones, screening on Sunday, January 24th at 8:30pm on 3.

Sunday, June 14th at 8:30pm

There’s a lot at stake on the season four finale of Bones, titled “The End in the Beginning”. The episode screens on Sunday, June 14th at 8:30pm on 3.

First on the list is the ongoing matter of Dr. Temperance ‘Bones’ Brennan (Emily Deschanel) finding a suitable father for her baby, and Special Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) pondering the task at hand.

While Booth contemplates one of the biggest decisions of his life, a dead body is found at a club called The Lab and the team is called to do some unexpected and unusual things that have to do with the club. The episode also sees the return of Bones’ ex-assistant and now pro-forensic anthropologist Zack Addy (guest star Eric Millegan).

“I enjoy his company so much,” Deschanel reveals to Zap2It. “I became friends with him over the years, like I have with most of the cast, and it was really hard to not have him around all the time.”

“But that said, when he came back for the finale, it was as if no time had passed. He just walked in, and it was great to act with him again and hang out with him on set. It was a breath of fresh air.”

Deschanel also had interesting things to say about the other guest stars appearing in the episode – the notoriously legendary rock band Mötley Crüe.

“Well, it turns out that Booth and Brennan have a little connection to Mötley Crüe,” she says.

“I guess they go back, go way back, and Mötley Crüe ends up actually playing in the lab, which was totally crazy. [They] kind of transformed the lab so they could play there.”

“I don’t want to reveal too much about the episode to say how that happens, but basically it turns out that Booth and Brennan have known Mötley Crüe randomly.”

Could Mötley Crüe be the answer to the Bones and Booth finally getting together? Find out in the star studded finale of Bones when the series concludes its fourth season on Sunday, June 14th at 8:30pm on 3.

8:30pm – Sunday, June 7 on TV 3

Family Guy’s Stewie Griffin (voiced by Seth MacFarlane) is joining the Bones cast when the hit series continues its action packed season on Sunday, June 7th at 8:30pm on 3.

This week’s episode titled “The Critic In The Cabernet” sees Brennan (Emily Deschanel) ask Booth (David Boreanaz) to father her a child, making the federal agent consumed by the prospect of becoming a father.

That, coupled with an undiagnosed health issue Booth is suffering from, sets the stage for a visit from Family Guy’s diabolical Stewie, who tenders advice to the prospective father.

Asked about his Bones drop-by, Stewie said in a statement, “Oh, have you seen it? Was I good? Because I heard they said I was amazing and they want me to replace Emily [Deschanel]. But that’s just a rumour.”

As for his part, Family Guy creator and Executive Producer Seth McFarlane say the unusual cross-over had been a breeze and the Stewie cameo was done in a very timely manner.

“Bones has been really cool to us. We’ve worked with them a bunch of times,” he tells Hit Fix. “Every time we have a live-action gag on the show, it’s usually shot on the Bones set by the Bones team. They’ve really been very neighbourly.”

“They came to us and they said it’d be really cool to have Stewie do a guest spot and we were like, ‘Absolutely. It’s the least we can do. We owe you a hundred times over’. It was fun. They did a great job with it.”

MacFarlane, who also recently marked the 100th episode for his other animated series, American Dad, reveals that the voice work for the Stewie guest spot was recorded in the Family Guy office and it took only 30 minutes. “We sent over a bunch of options for them to choose from.”

As for how long the notorious baby appears in the episode, MacFarlane says he could be in as much as 10 percent of the episode.

“There were a bunch of scenes and I don’t know how many they’re going to keep in. The more that are kept in, obviously, the more expensive it is to animate. They did a great job on all of them, so I’m looking forward to seeing what the result is.”

Make sure not to miss this unusual collaboration when Family Guy’s Stewie Griffin meets Special Agent Seeley Booth in Bones, screening on Sunday, June 7th at 8:30pm on 3.

VIBE – Tuesdays from 12 May, 8.30pm

Brennan and Booth are back in all new episodes of the darkly amusing forensic drama inspired by real-life forensic anthropologist and best-selling novelist Kathy Reichs.

Several questions were left hanging at the end of the last season: What happened after Angela and Hodgins fled the altar, leaving Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Booth (David Boreanaz) to fill the gap? Will Zack go to Iraq? If so, what will happen to him there? Will Cam and Booth resume their off-again, on-again relationship?

For every question answered and every case closed, there are many more waiting to take their place. This season, Brennan must deal with the trial of her father (guest star Ryan O’Neal) for the murder of the Deputy Director of the FBI. Baby-faced 22-year-old psychologist, Dr. Lance Sweets (John Francis Daley, Freaks & Geeks), begins treating Brennan and Booth after the FBI forces them to seek therapy. And the team finds themselves on the trail of a cannibalistic serial killer, an ongoing investigation that will forever change the dynamics at the Jeffersonian Institution.

Sunday, March 29th at 8:30pm on TV3

He’s most well known for his portrayal of Special Agent Seeley Booth but this week David Boreanaz doubles his duties and also steps behind the camera to make his Bones directorial debut when the series screens on Sunday, March 29th at 8:30pm on 3.

Having previously directed an episode of his former series Angel, Boreanaz says he is looking forward to once again stepping behind the camera to direct the Bones episode titled “The Bones That Foam”.

“I’ve done it before and I look forward to directing Bones for the first time,” he tells thisisgloucestershire.co.uk.

The 39-year-old actor says he is ready for the challenge and doesn’t want his on-screen time to be cut because he is also responsible for the behind-the-scenes action.

“I told them [the writers]; don’t write me out of the episode,” he says. “The challenge of it is that you’re not only playing the character on the show, but also directing it at the same time.”

Boreanaz says the two aspects are completely different and what he tried to achieve in “The Bones That Foam” is to make them as independent of each other as he possibly could.

“It’s really two different focuses,” he says. “And as exhausting as it can be, it’s really a thrill; you have to make decisions at a fast pace… that’s how it happens.”

As to where his passion lies, the actor says all aspects of the process are like children that he loves equally. “I enjoy the directing aspect, producing and acting – all the spiel!”

The much anticipated episode will see a corpse discovered at the bottom of a gorge throw Booth and Dr. Temperance ‘Bones’ Brennan (Emily Deschanel) into a panic when its bones begin to foam giving the lab only 24 hours to solve the murder. Will the team be able to determine the cause of death before the bones disintegrate completely?

Find out when this David Boreanaz directed mystery screens on Sunday, March 29th at 8:30pm on 3.

Sunday, March 8th at 8:30pm on TV3

Special Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) has certainly seen some freaky things in his career, but how will the Agent react to a sepulchral serial killer revealing that he wants Booth to be his next victim? Find out when Bones continues its action-packed season on Sunday, March 8th at 8:30pm on 3.

His character may deal with some of the most gruesome and unusual murder investigations on television but Bones star David Boreanaz recently admitted to not being immune to the more gory scenes on the series.

Boreanaz, who portrays Special Agent Seeley Booth on the hit crime drama, recently admitted to being grossed out whenever they shoot Bones, saying his stomach is not designed for the show’s icky fake body parts.

“You just make sure that you’re not eating or having lunch,” the actor reveals of dealing with the body parts Special Agent Booth frequently finds on the forensic crime drama.

“It gets a bit graphic, the bodies that happen, they always have the maggots that are eating the bodies or a rat that’s scurrying in and out.”

As for who’s responsible for his queasy stomach, Boreanaz gives full credit to the special effects and makeup crew for making the often challenging props seem as realistic as that do.

“It’s amazing how really gross they can make something look and how really real it is,” Boreanaz says in praise of the Bones’ props people. “They never cease to surprise me.”

But while challenging at times, Boreanaz can not speak more highly of the series, for which he’s currently preparing to direct his first ever episode.

“I’ve done it before and I look forward to directing Bones for the first time,” the star explains. “I like the process of it so it’ll be a good time. I enjoy the directing aspect, producing and acting – all the spiel!”

Make sure not to miss this enthusiastic actor when Bones continues on Sunday, March 8th at 8:30pm on 3.

Saturday, January 25th at 8:30pm

The long wait is finally over, after weeks of Bones-less Sunday action, the hit forensics drama returns from its Christmas holiday on Sunday, January 25th at 8:30pm on 3.

Recently Bones Executive Producer Hart Hanson gave an insight into this week’s episode, titled “The Con Man In The Meth Lab”, and the very special guest star who will be joining Booth (David Boreanaz) and Bones (Emily Deschanel) for the ride.

Roswell star Brendan Fehr is joining the cast as Jared Booth, the brother of Booth, and according to Hanson Jared could cause some obstacles in the highly anticipated Bones-Booth hook-up.

“I think its okay to say that what we find out in The Con Man In The Meth Lab is that Booth’s childhood was very tough,” Hanson tells Monsters and Critics.

“It was very tough and it’s hard even for him to say it or admit it to anyone. The story with Jared makes them both confront what happened in their past.”

Hanson also reveals that Booth had a rather murky relationship with his dad, in contrast to his Granddad whom he shared very good times with.

“I will tell you that soon we see Booth’s apartment and there’s the wreckage or part of the wreckage of Booth’s grandfather’s jet – he was a jet fighter, a fighter pilot – in there as kind of an homage to his grandfather.”

And regarding the casting of Fehr, Hanson says that choosing the Samurai Girl star was a no-brainer at all.

“We needed somebody that we thought the character of Booth would care about deeply, but had a dark side and bore at least some physical resemblance to him…  I said while we were doing it, ‘Oh, that’s it. I’m not casting any more family members. It’s too difficult’ and then in came Brendan who I knew from Roswell.”

And the rest as they say is history. So make sure to catch Brendan Fehr in Bones when the series returns on Sunday, January 25th at 8:30pm on 3.
