The most watched and highest rated Comedy Central Roast ever, the COMEDY CENTRAL ROAST OF CHARLIE SHEEN, premieres on Comedy Central (SKY channel 015) on Thursday 27 October @ 8.30pm.

Filmed at the Sony Studios in Los Angeles, Seth MacFarlane serves as the Roast Master with Roasters including, Jon Lovitz (Saturday Night Live), William Shatner, Steve-O (Jackass), Mike Tyson and Kate Walsh (Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice), along with a special appearance by Slash.

As Roast Master Seth McFarlane and his fellow Roasters took a no-holds barred approach nothing was off limits.  Burning him to a crisp, scorching remarks were fired hitting all aspects of Sheen’s life.

Kutcher’s Men debut draws 27.8m

Ashton Kutcher’s debut on Two and a Half Men in the US drew a massive 27.8 million viewers for CBS. The figure is around double the usual audience for past episodes of the sitcom.

Sheen Roast sets Comedy Central record

The Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen has also drawn big ratings for Comedy Central, with 6.4 million viewers tuning in. The audience is roughly double what the previous roasts for David Hasselhoff and Donald Trump drew.

BBC suing Italian network

The BBC is suing an Italian TV channel owned by Silvio Berlusconi over what they believe to be a rip-off of Strictly Come Dancing. The BBC believe the rival show, entitled Baila!, will infringe its copyright for the Dancing with the Stars/Strictly Come Dancing format.

Scrubs actress signs up for Cougar Town

Scrubs actress Sarah Chalke has landed a recurring role on Cougar Town. Chalke, who featured in Scrubs as Elliot, will play a love interest for Bobby (Brian Van Holt).

Paltrow and Timberlake win Emmys

Gwyneth Paltrow and Justin Timberlake were among the winners at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony over the weekend. Paltrow took out the ‘Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series’ awards while Timberlake received the ‘Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series’ award. The Primetime Emmy Awards air later in September.

Survivor host Jeff Probst has won the Emmy for ‘Outstanding Host for Reality Program’ for the fourth time in as many years.

de Rossi to feature in new comedy series

Portia de Rossi will star in the new comedy project from wife Ellen DeGeneres. The former Arrested Development actress will feature in the yet-to-be-titled project, which is based around two warring sisters.

Sheen’s roast filmed over the weekend 

The Comedy Roast of Charlie Sheen was filmed over the weekend and as promised the roasters held nothing back in their mocking of Sheen. One of the best jokes of the night was: “You’re just like Bruce Willis — you were big in the 80s and now your old slot is being filled by Ashton Kutcher.”

Shatner, Walsh added to Charlie Sheen Roast

William Shatner, Jon Lovitz and Kate Walsh have been added to the lineup of The Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen with former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash also making a special guest appearance. 

E.T. actor to guets on The Mentalist

E.T. actor Henry Thomas has signed on for a guest role in The Mentalist as the brother of Lisbon (Robin Tunney). Thomas played Elliot in the 1982 blockbuster movie and has appeared since in the likes of CSI and Without a Trace.

New Sorkin drama picked up

Producer Aaron Sorkin’s new HBO pliot, which centres on a fictional cable news network, has been given a series order. The series will feature Jeff Daniels, Olivia Munn and Dev Patel among others.
