“The first day that my character shows up for work, there’s a dead body in their lab,” she says. “So right away the whole show is trying to solve this crime – who is she? How did it happen? How did she get in here? [It’s a] very interesting storyline, the first one, so I think I’m sort of thrown into the fire right away.”

However, Ward says that Jo will be able to cope with the cases.

“The character that I play is a former FBI agent,” she explains. “And very accomplished, very capable. Another CSI investigator detective. So she’s on equal footing with all of them.” Make sure not to miss your first introduction to her when CSI: New York enters its seventh season on Saturday, October 13 th at 8:30pm on 3.

It’s more and more clear that their vacation is not going to go so well.”

Casey’s name has popped up a few times this season, starting when Danny’s badge was stolen and fingerprints at the scene matched Casey’s. Casey later used Danny’s badge to bust out during a prison riot, and now his long-term plans are about to be revealed.

“He’s going to have more than a minute to explain himself, why he feels the way he feels and what’s driven him to this place,” Giovinazzo explains. “We have a couple really intense scenes, where he basically goes on and on about why he’s doing what he’s doing and why he’s so angry.”

She made the choice to end the relationship – it was never something he wanted to do. I think he was a bit stunned by that, and there was never any real closure or resolution. So when he runs into her, there’s some unfinished business.”

But any relationship drama will have to take a back seat after Peyton’s friend; Kevin Scott (Gale Harold) becomes the suspect in a murder investigation when sees Mac sees him engaged in some suspicious behaviour from the window of his apartment.

“He can’t ignore what he sees, and there are some surprises,” Sinise explains. “She’s caught in the middle of him and the case, and I think she’s as surprised by what happens – and what he reveals is happening around her – as he is.”

For the first time ever three CSI teams come together to solve one shocking mystery.

Dr Ray Langston (Laurence Fishburne) travels between all three CSI shows in this very special night of television.

Beginning with CSI: Miami, the crossover starts when Horatio finds a severed leg which belongs to a girl who went missing in Las Vegas earlier that week.  He summons Dr. Langston to Everglades, Miami, where the body part was found.

Then on CSI: New York, the body of a woman whom Dr. Langston interviewed while in Miami is discovered in New York, hidden in a truck.  Together with Mac Taylor, Dr. Langston begins unravelling a case of an interstate trucking ring that specialises in human cargo and black market organ harvesting.

The string ends on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation when Dr. Langston goes to a prostitution ring in Las Vegas in a desperate bid to find another young girl taken hostage as part of a human trafficking operation.
