Dating In The Dark

9:30pm Friday, October 22 on TV2

Looks will be taken out of the equation when men and women get to know each other and connect in total darkness in the reality series, Dating In The Dark.

Hosted by Rossi Morreale (Temptation), Dating In The Dark is a sexy innovative social experiment that each week sees single men and women on the hunt for romance. While they’ll have no chance of seeing each other in the light, they will have the opportunity to date in a completely dark room. The participants won’t be able to see anything, but the audience will get to see everything with the help of high-tech infrared cameras.

Morreale tells TVSquad.com, “we’re trying to answer that age old question, is love blind? And the only way that we figured out to do it was to put people in a dark room and have them date.

“Why the show works, and why it doesn’t matter if you’ve graced the cover of Maxim or not,” he continues, “is because contestants are finding a deeper connection because they’re actually having a conversation and not just staring at each other’s butts.”

After several days of wooing, kissing and snuggling in complete darkness, the participants will select one of their dates to be revealed in the light. And after they see each other for the first time, they’ll have to make the ultimate decision – to stay with the person they fell for in the dark, or to move on.

This is when the sparks really fly says Morreale: “It is when, no matter what’s happened in the dark room, everything changes because now they’ve seem them, now they’re either attracted to the other person or not attracted to them.”

This week, three new single women and three new single men looking for love move into the house and the darkroom. After determining their most compatible match and looking through the opposite sex’s cars for clues on their personality, the participants must decide if they have found a mate, on Dating In The Dark.
