Revealing the secrets of summer entertaining, and making use of the abundance of fresh produce that summer brings, Delia Smith presents a refreshing and colourful array of delicious dishes. The influence of sun-drenched regions such as California, Italy, Spain, Greece and the Far East contribute to the flavours and ideas; new techniques for grilling and roasting vegetables and barbecue tips for meat-eaters and vegetarians are also featured and include delectable edibles such as spiced lamb, cashew kebabs and a range of vegetarian alternatives. Vegetarians can also look forward to an episode featuring meat free treats such pan pizza with smoked mozzarella and sun-dried tomatoes. And of course – since everyone loves ice-cream – Delia has dedicated an entire episode to preparing cool treats perfect for hot summer days. Her tantalising line-up of frozen delights includes coconut with lime syrup, strawberry granita, and a nougatine variety with a compote of fruits.
