the BOX – Sundays from 4 October, 9.30pm
A brand new season of the award-winning drama series starring MICHAEL C. HALL debuts on the BOX.
Passionate about sport, fishing, women? What if your passion was human vivisection? Killing heinous perpetrators that are above the law or who have slipped through the cracks of justice is the best way for Dexter to channel his gruesome passion. As a respected member of the police force, a perfect gentleman and a man with a soft spot for children, it’s hard not to like Dexter. Although he is indeed a passionate man.
He can charm fellow officers with a doughnut, wile away a Sunday with his sexually disinterested girlfriend Rita, or chop up a victim and package their body parts in plastic bags. Yes hiding just beneath the mundane exterior and contrived façade of Dexter is an obsession with meeting his own twisted brand of justice: stalking and murdering the guilty.
Out with the old and in with the new, season three brings good things. Dexter’s relationship is back on track, he’s no longer under scrutiny at his day job as a blood spatter analyst and his night job as a serial killer is operating on all cylinders. However as we have learnt nothing is what it seems with Dexter Morgan and his growing friendship with deputy district attorney Miguel Prado (Jimmy Smits) is proof of that.
Dexter Season 3 on the BOX, it’s to die for.
the BOX, SKY Digital Channel 5, is set to screen double episodes of DEXTER, Series 2, starting with episode one, from Sunday 23 August at 9.30pm, so loyal fans and television enthusiasts do not miss a single minute of this award-winning series!
Stay tuned for brand new Series 3, coming to the BOX later this year…..
Unnerved by feelings he can’t understand, and under the constant surveillance of Sergeant Doakes (Erik King), Dexter finds himself unable to kill again…
After killing his brother, the Ice Truck Killer, serial killer Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) begins to stray from his personal code of ethics, with potentially disastrous results. When treasure hunters discover Dexter’s underwater dumping ground for his victims, the eccentric FBI Special Agent Frank Lundy (Keith Carradine, Deadwood) is brought in to catch Miami’s latest serial killer. Dubbed the “Bay Harbour Butcher”, Dexter needs to find a way to lead the all-too-smart Agent Lundy off his trail.
Also joining the cast this season is Jaime Murray (Hustle) as Lila, a supposed former meth addict, pyromaniac and artist who seems to accept Dexter – and even manages to make him feel at ease, for the first time in his life.
9:30pm – Thursday, August 6 on TV 3
After experiencing many personal problems, this week sees Dexter (Michael C. Hall) realise that his next victim’s smooth-talking charm and effortless lying are the things that he himself is lacking these days. Dexter continues its second action-packed season on Thursday, August 6th at 9:30pm on 3.
In the first season of the hit Showtime series, viewers were introduced to an eponymous lead character who did not hesitate to kill those who have managed to slip through the justice system.
However, since murdering his own brother, the Ice Truck Killer, Dexter has begun to doubt the validity of his actions, which, according to series star David Zayas, is why the series’ second season examines the ever-expanding space between absolute good and absolute evil.
“The thing about this show is that it’s never black and white – it’s always complicated,” Zayas, who plays Angel Batista on the series, tells American TV Guide, adding that the new season also means new developments in Dexter’s life.
“You’re going to learn and discover new things about Dexter. There are going to be times when he returns to the old ways, and there are going to be new emotions and new discoveries.”
One of the new things Dexter embarks upon this season is a 12-step programme for people addicted to drugs. Unable to tell his girlfriend Rita (Julie Benz) about his midnight killing sprees, Dexter signs up for the programme after Rita, who accuses him of having a drug addiction, threatens to leave him.
At the sessions Dexter meets a mysterious woman named Lila (Jamie Murray), who Zayas reveals will play an important role in the series’ storyline.
“Dexter’s sponsor, Lila will be involved in a lot of the discoveries,” says Zayas, adding that viewers can expect “a lot of surprises coming up; it’s going to be a fun year. You’re going to be on the edge of your seat.”
While Dexter continues with his far from normal life, Zayas reveals that his own character could not be more normal. According to the actor Angel is just an average guy who’s trying to do a good job in a chaotic profession.
“He’s not a tough guy,” he says. “He does his job well, but he’s also a little too trusting. He’s a normal guy, a cop who just happens to really like this friend of his who’s a mass serial killer.”
So what’s in store for this unlikely pairing? Find out when Dexter continues its beautifully dark second season on Thursday, August 6th at 9:30pm on 3.
9:30pm – Thursday, July 23 on TV 3
This week sees the return of Emmy and Golden Globe Award-nominated actor Michael C. Hall as Dexter Morgan, an incredibly likeable forensics expert for the Miami Metro Police Department who also happens to be a serial killer – but one with his own moral code in that he only kills murderers who can’t otherwise be brought to justice. The hit Showtime series Dexter returns for its second season on Thursday, July 23rd at 9:30pm on 3.
When we last saw his bloody handiwork, Dexter had just captured and violently disposed off the dialogistical Ice Truck Killer, who also happened to be his biological brother.
“As creepy and crazy as things were last season, it’s about to get a whole lot more of both,” Hall tells Entertainment Tonight about the series upcoming second season.
“The suspicions about Dexter have never been greater, and he’s never been more cunning eluding the people chasing him.”
“This season, with Sergeant Doakes (Erik King) trailing his every sinister move, Dexter will need all the cunning he can master to do what he does best – get his thrills from killing killers.”
And as this wasn’t enough trouble for the unlikely hero, Dexter’s girlfriend, Rita (Julie Benz), is becoming ever more suspicious about her boyfriend’s behaviour.
“The spotlight is focused much more tightly on Dexter and his relationships this season,” explains executive producer John Goldwyn.
“It’s a delicious dance. Dexter is both the hunter and the hunted. All the while, he must abide by the code his father set for him: Avoid getting caught at all costs.”
As well as Doakes, Hall says this season will also see guest star Keith Carradine turning up the heat on the likable serial killer’s extracurricular activities.
“I marvel at nothing as much as Dexter’s capacity for stress management. He’s really good at being really twisted,” he says.
This of course is part of his charm. Make sure not to miss the return of the forensics expert for the Miami Metro Police Department by day and serial killer by night when the second season of Dexter premieres on Thursday, July 23rd at 9:30pm on 3.
