Lego_LogoWith The Simpsons Lego on the not too distant horizon, one must wonder what might be next for Danish toy giant.  If this is anything to go by, then a Doctor Who Lego Tardis may not be too far in the distant future.

Sometimes we have to turn down project submissions that refer to specific brands or licensed properties. We do this to avoid getting your hopes up for something we know we aren’t able to make. In these cases, we already know the LEGO Group can’t secure licensing rights to produce construction toys based on a particular brand or property, due to a conflicting interest with a third party.

If such a conflict goes away, we’ll then be able to accept projects based on a particular brand or license. Continue reading »

New deals with Disney, NBC Universal and BBC Worldwide Australia & New Zealand expand Quickflix offering in quality TV drama series Quickflix today announced that it has entered into agreements with The Walt Disney Company Australia, NBC Universal and BBC Worldwide ANZ to license popular and award‐winning TV series programming for its streaming service.

Content licensed under these new agreements includes seasons of Emmy Award‐winning drama series Downton Abbey, Golden Globe Award‐winning US comedy series Parks and Recreation, BAFTA‐winning Mrs Brown’s Boys and other series from NBC Universal; drama series Revenge, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and other series from Disney/ABC Television Group; as well as hit series Sherlock, Orphan Black, Doctor Who and many other series from BBC Worldwide ANZ. English village changing name to honor Game Of Thrones

The Radio Times is reporting that the rural village of Kings Langley – a civil parish in Hertfordshire, England – will temporarily change its name to Kings Landing to mark the release of Game Of Thrones’ Season 3 DVD set. Apparently a producer on the show arranged the new title after hearing “Kings Langley” as a train stop while visiting London. No word on whether the people of Kings Langley will have to put up with an annoying brat king.

Here’s a fan’s pretty well produced short crossover story where two of the BBC’s characters paths cross.

“Months after an encounter with a mysterious ‘Doctor’, Sherlock becomes obsessed with discovering more about this impossible man… until the man makes an unexpected return.”

In anticipation of both the Doctor Who Christmas Special and the Third Series of Sherlock, I created a small crossover story. Though it may not be perfect, I’m still pretty happy with the results.

The 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who, The Day of the Doctor, will screen on Prime this Sunday and for those hardcore fans who can’t wait for the primetime viewing at 8:30pm, the episode will screen 10minutes behind the UK from 9:00am.

This is the mini-episode “The Night of the Doctor” that has been released as a prequel to this Sunday’s anniversary special.

Are the Cybermen going to be the Doctor Who villains in this years Christmas special?  A now deleted tweet from one of the stunt doubles suggests that might be the case:

Peter Capaldi has been revealed as the Twelfth Doctor in PRIME’s popular sci-fi drama, Doctor Who.

Amid much hype and speculation, Peter Capaldi was unveiled as the next Doctor during a special live television event on BBC ONE in the United Kingdom.
