Evacuees Reunited

LIVING CHANNEL – Saturdays from 3 January, 8.30pm

Presented by Antique Roadshow’s Michael Aspel, Evacuees Reunited tells the story of British evacuees during World War II. In September 1939, three and a half million people – mostly children – were uprooted and sent away from their families. The aim was to save them from German bombs, but few could have foreseen the emotional upheaval these journeys would provoke. Their seismic dramas still ripple through millions of British lives to this day. With many campaigning for their experiences to be recognised, Evacuees Reunited will recount and celebrate their remarkable journeys and stories.
