PrometheusPrometheus actor joins new pilot

Prometheus actor Logan Marshall-Green will lead the cast in a new drama pilot called Quarry. The project will centre on a Marine sniper who is shunned by loved ones after his return from Vietnam and starts a life as a professional assassin.

The cast of one of the best short-lived comedy series on TV has staged a reunion twelve years after their show was cancelled.

The entire cast of the 1999 comedy series Freaks and Geeks has reunited to discuss their experience on the short-lived series, which ran for one brilliant season before it was given the axe.

The Judd Apatow-created series was heralded as being ahead of its time but faced strong opposition from its network, NBC, who eventually cut it.

Freaks and Geeks launched the careers of Seth Rogan, James Franco, Linda Cardellini, Busy Philipps and Jason Segel and the first season included bit parts from the likes of Shia LaBeouf, Rashida Jones, Lizzy Caplan, Jason Schwartzman and Ben Foster. Continue reading »

House actress Lisa Edelstein will make an appearance in the new US Sherlock Holmes series Elementary. She will appear in the seventh episode of the first season.

Apatow returning to TV


Judd Apatow is returning to TV with a new series in which he will act as executive producer. The Freaks and Geeks creator will work on the untitled HBO project about “the assorted humiliation and rare triumphs of a group of young women in their early 20s” with 24-year-old filmmaker Lena Dunham.

Prime’s MasterChef USA has been given a second season by its American network Fox after the success of its first season, which is currently still taking place in the US.

Sackoff heading to CSI

Battlestar Galactica actress Katee Sackoff will join crime series CSI in what is possibly a recurring role. The actress will also guest star on an upcoming episode of The Big Bang Theory.

Englund lands Chuck role

Robert Englund, who played the original Freddy Krueger in the A Nightmare on Elm Street movies, will make a guest appearance on the latest season of Chuck. Englund will play an evil scientist on the show.

CNN officially confirms Morgan show

CNN has finally confirmed the worst kept TV secret, officially announcing that Piers Morgan will take up the primetime slot on the network left by the departing Larry King. Morgan will host a one-hour “candid, in-depth newsmaker interview programme” starting in January.
