Heigl asks for Grey’s return

Former Grey’s Anatomy actress Katherine Heigl says she has asked the showrunners if she can return to the series. “I’ve told them I want to [return],” she told E! “Being a showrunner and being a writer of a TV series like that is so complicated… balancing about 40 different storylines, so I don’t know if it fits in to their sort of vision for this season or next or however many seasons it goes. I really, really, really want to see where [Izzie] is. I just want to know what happened to her and where she went and what she’s doing now.”

Rossi to guest on Alcatraz

Ashton Kutcher has caused a bit of a stir in his second episode on Two and a Half Men thanks to a bunch of stickers on his character’s laptop. The stickers were for companies in which Kutcher himself has a stake and CBS apparently had no idea.

Director developing new series

Easy A and Friends With Benefits director Will Gluck is working on a new comedy for the Fox network. The show is described as a “family comedy” that will examine relationships with neighbours and the “American Dream”.

Monk returning to Grey’s

Reports are suggesting that actress Debra Monk will reprise her role in Grey’s Anatomy. The actress, who plays the mother of George, was last seen on the show in 2009.

Wedding bells will ring in Grey’s Anatomy this week.

As Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona’s (Jessica Capshaw) wedding approaches, the couple quickly realise that the day they’ve been looking forward to is not turning out the way they’d envisioned.

Meanwhile, Alex (Justin Chambers) continues to make the other residents jealous, as he appears to be the top contender for Chief Resident, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek (Patrick Dempsey) make a decision that will change their lives forever, and Dr Perkins (James Tupper, Men In Trees) presents Teddy (Kim Raver) with a very tempting proposition.

Ramirez tells American TV Guide that viewers can expect a spectacle of femininity.

“I’ve never seen so much pink at a wedding,” she said of the episode. “If you have two brides in a ceremony, you need to go big and pull out all the stops.

Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol, How to Save a Life by The Fray and The Story by Brandi Carlile are among the songs performed by the cast in one of the most special hours of Grey’s Anatomy yet.

Sara Ramirez, who won a Tony Award in 2005 for Broadway’s Monty Python’s Spamalot tells American TV Guide that she was delighted with the opportunity to sing on the show.

“It’s like a dream I didn’t even know I had coming true. It feels like everything in my life and career has been leading up to this moment.”

Ramirez warns that her character goes through a “life-altering event” in this episode.

“Have a Kleenex nearby… just in case it gets to be too much,” she says.
