Hairy Bikers

FOOD TELEVISION – Wednesday 21 December, 9.30pm

The Hairy Bikers, Si King and Dave Myers are on the search for the most interesting food that Britain’s mums are cooking for their families this Christmas. Celebrating the very best of Christmas cooking in Britain, Si and Dave tour the nation hunting out Britain’s festive favourites and a few surprises. On their journey they find mums cooking everything from Roast Goose with all the trimmings to Pinnekjott and festive Gingerbread to Christmassy coconut samosas. The lads also conjure up their own seasonal specialities including loin of venison in home made sloe gin and lime seared scallops with smoked salmon fritters. The celebration of Christmas favourites culminates at a snow-bound stately home filled with nearly 150 mums tasting and sharing each others’ favourite dishes.

FOOD TELEVISION – Sundays from 10 April, 5pm

The Hairy Bikers are back on the road calling for more mums – and maybe a few dads – to unlock their family recipe archives and share delicious home cooking secrets with the nation. At the heart of each episode is the Mums Know Best Recipe Fair, an event suffused with nostalgia for village fetes, crossed with The Hairy Bikers’ extraordinary range of international influences. With a magical mix of family food, fantastic stories and sense of community that made the first series such an instant hit, series two brings viewers even more culinary secrets, encouraging everyone to try simple family cooking for themselves.
