Shaughnessy plays a famous author who takes a liking to Peter (John Michael Higgins) and Fran. But after getting mixed signals, they’re left wondering who he really wants.

Lou Diamond Phillips guest stars on Happily Divorced tonight, as Fran (Fran Drescher) must decide between love and friendship.

When Fran and Judi (Tichina Arnold) meet a man named David (Phillips) at a bar, he shows his interest in Judi, much to Fran’s disappointment. However, when he later makes a pass at Fran, she must decide if she should go with it, or if she should tell Judi that this new man is not as great as he seems…

Incidentally, Drescher caught the attention of fans while filming this episode, allegedly tweeting “Wht a hunk!” (sic), believed to be in reference to the Courage Under Fire actor.

Inspired by the real life story of Fran Drescher (The Nanny) and husband Peter Jacobson, Happily Divorced meets Fran (Drescher), who after 18 years of marriage is shocked to discover that her husband Peter (John Michael Higgins, Yes Man) is gay.

The LA based florist must deal with this bombshell and learn to juggle her new relationships and her ex-husband, who remains in the same house post-divorce.

Tonight, when Fran loses a big client she offers to sell her engagement ring to cover their tax bill, but all Hell breaks loose when Peter finds out about Fran’s plan.
