Jennifer Lopez to star in new cop drama

Jennifer Lopez has been cast as Harlee McCord in a new cop drama for NBC.  Shades of Blue has been billed as a complex cop drama that centers on a single mother and detective recruited to work undercover for the FBI’s anti-corruption task force. Harlee has become compromised by her colleagues – all of whom also pitch in to help her raise her daughter – and finds herself faced with the moral dilemma of working against her cop brothers in order to redeem herself. NBC in the USA has ordered 13 episodes of a new standalone arc titled Heroes Reborn, with all storyline and character details currently being kept under wraps. The miniseries will air sometime in 2015, preceded by a web series that will introduce the characters and new storylines.

Gervais to guest on The Office

Ricky Gervais has been confirmed to make a minor appearance on the  US version of The Office this season. The creator of the UK original has filmed a very small part in the series, with showrunner Paul Lieberstein saying: “It’s little more than if you blink, you’ll miss it.”

Returning Amazing Race teams announced

The cast for the latest season of The Amazing Race has been announced, with the teams made up of contestants who have failed to win the $1m in the past.
