Back in all new episodes, Iron Chef America carries on the legend of Kitchen Stadium and the famed “secret ingredient”. Based upon the Japanese cult sensation, each week world-class chefs battle the legendary Iron Chefs of America: Bobby Flay, Masaharu Morimoto, Cat Cora, Jose Garces and Michael Symon. Alton Brown serves as Commentator and Mark Dacascos is Chairman as the competitors fight it out in culinary war to discover whose cuisine will reign supreme.

FOOD TELEVISION – Saturday 13 February, 7.30pm

Iron Chef stars Mario Batali, Bobby Flay and Emeril Lagasse travel to the White House, Washington, D.C. to take part in an unprecedented culinary competition in Super Chef Battle, a special two-hour episode of Iron Chef America. Greeted by none other than the First Lady herself – Michelle Obama, the chefs are introduced to White House Executive Chef Cristeta Comerford who will also compete in the challenge of creating a meal for America using The White House Kitchen Garden’s produce as their secret ingredient. The chefs are then split into two teams: Flay and Comerford versus Batali and Lagasse, then it’s off to Kitchen Stadium where the battle really begins! Each team must produce five dishes that showcase the ingredients selected from the garden and that represent the ultimate American meal. The judges include chef and best-selling cookbook author Nigella Lawson; Olympic gold medalist Natalie Coughlin and actress, author and designer Jane Seymour.

The Chairman has an unprecedented battle up his sleeve! He has invited three culinary students from The International Culinary Schools at The Art Institutes to cook up their very best dishes in kitchen stadium. To battle them, the Chairman has chosen Iron Chef Symon, accompanied by two young protégés of his who will be put to the test in their greatest challenge yet.

In this special holiday themed episode, the Chairman has decided to pit Iron Chef Flay versus Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto and to add flair, fun and stunning visual presentation to this exciting holiday battle, he has also invited some special guests – Ice Carvers to create amazing additions to the chefs’ presentations.

Kitchen Stadium plays host to more scorching hot culinary battles, as seasoned favourites and new challengers compete for the ultimate culinary victory. Watch as Toronto chef and host of Restaurant Makeover, David Adjiey challenges Iron Chef Michael Symon; then tune in as Bobby Flay takes the floor against New York chef Daniel Angerer. Will Angerer’s Austrian roots help him beat Iron Chef Flay? Or will Flay’s southwestern fare win the favour of the judges? From cheddar cheese to beer to offal, the chefs must be prepared for any secret ingredient, and the judges must be prepared for any dish!
