DRAMA
Justice
Thursday 22 November, 10.30pm

TV2’s newest drama is Justice, an unflinching, behind-the-scenes look at how high-profile murder cases are tried in these media-saturated times.

Justice is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, creator of Without a Trace, Cold Case and CSI, and stars Victor Garber (Alias, Titanic); Kerr Smith (Charmed, Dawson’s Creek); Rebecca Mader (The Devil Wears Prada); and Eamonn Walker (ER, Lord of War).
Set in Los Angeles, the entertainment and high-profile trial capital of the world, Justice centres on four brilliant lawyers who work together to tackle the cases that captivate the country and provide compelling fodder for everything from water cooler chit-chat to tabloid glossies to 24-hour news channels. Combining their unique skills and personal charisma with the most cutting-edge forensic technology, these lawyers are a formidable presence in any courtroom. When the stakes are as high as they can be, you want Trott, Nicholson, Tuller & Graves in your corner.

Ron Trott (Garber) is the face seen on every media talk show in the country – and he wants it that way. He’s great at landing a client, spinning a case and getting his way, but juries hate him. It was his inspiration and win-at-all-costs mentality that brought this group of brilliant, ego-driven attorneys together.

Standing behind Ron – as far away from the cameras as possible – is Tom Nicholson (Smith), considered the “all-American face of ‘not guilty.'” Nebraska born and bred, Tom is a brilliant litigator whose earnest everyman manner makes him Ron’s alter ego. Trials are won and lost on the art of battle in the courtroom, and Tom is a master of his domain.

Luther Graves (Walker) is a former prosecutor turned defence lawyer. A leader in the African-American community, he is well-connected, politically motivated and in possession of an uncanny ability to take a step back and assess the merits of a case from both the prosecution’s and the defence’s perspective, anticipating the story each side will tell.

Finally, Alden Tuller (Mader) is young, ambitious and capable of tackling the most complex forensic and legal issues and the most expert witnesses on cross-examination.

When California’s prominent residents need the best legal representation, they hire TNT&G. Even if the defendants are convicted by the media, led by ‘infotainment’ court shows like ‘American Crime’, TNT&G mounts a defence using state-of-the-art forensic interpretation, jury consultants, mock juries, experts and masterful media spin to save their clients – no matter the cost.

In the series premiere a seemingly distraught husband is arrested after the suspicious death of his wealthy wife. With money as the motive he appears guilty of bludgeoning her and throwing her in the couple’s swimming pool. The case is perfect media fodder, so he hires TNT&G, who feverishly prepare and present their case.

Each episode of Justice concludes with the series’ signature epilogue. In a flashback to the scene of the crime, we see what no lawyer can ever see: what really happened… and whether justice has been served.

Justice premieres Thursday 22 November at 10.30pm on TV2.

About the show

From Jerry Bruckheimer, executive producer of “CSI” and “Without a Trace,” comes JUSTICE, an unflinching, behind-the-scenes look at the way high-profile cases are tried in the media age.

JUSTICE features a dream team of four lawyers from disparate backgrounds who join forces to tackle the most controversial and newsworthy cases. With their unique skill sets and the power of forensic law, this formidable team becomes indispensable to the law firm of Turk, Nicholson, Tuller & Gaines.

RON TURK (Victor Garber, “Alias,” “Titanic”) is the face seen on every media talk show in the country – and he wants it that way. He’s great at landing a client, spinning a case and getting his way, but juries hate him.

Standing behind Ron – as far away from the cameras as possible – is TOM NICHOLSON (Kerr Smith, “Charmed”), the heart of the firm. Tom is a brilliant litigator whose Everyman, earnest manner makes him Ron’s alter ego.

LUTHER GAINES (Eamonn Walker, “Oz”), famous in the African-American community, is well-connected, politically motivated and in possession of an uncanny ability to take a step back and assess the merits of a case from both the prosecution’s and the defense’s perspectives.

ALDEN TULLER (Rebecca Mader, “The Devil Wears Prada”) is a young, ambitious and brilliant clinician who approaches each case analytically, uncovering ways to destroy expert witnesses on cross-examination.
