Modern Family leads SAG TV nominations

Modern Family is leading the television nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Awards. The comedy series picked up five nominations, including individual nods for Ty Burrell, Eric Stonestreet, Sofia Vergara and Julie Bowen.

Underbelly actor in more trouble

Former Underbelly actor Matthew Newton has been charged after he allegedly assaulted a taxi driver in Sydney. Newton sought treatment earlier this year for drug and alcohol-related issues and has been in trouble with the police in the past.

Hill finds Kardashians “disgusting”

Actor Jonah Hill has ripped into the Kardashians, saying he finds it “disgusting” that the family earns higher ratings than quality scripted series. “The fact that the Kardashians could be more popular than a show like Mad Men is disgusting. It’s a super disgusting part of our culture, but I still find it funny to make a joke about it. Whenever I say I like reality TV, people write about it like they’re in shock. I can’t even understand it, so I watch it.”

Meloni joins True Blood

Law & Order: SVU actor Christopher Meloni has joined the cast of True Blood as a series regular. Meloni played Elliot Stabler on the crime series for 12 seasons.
