Lost In China

NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC – Sunday 25 October, 9.30am

Nowhere in China is drastic development more evident than along the Yangtze River and the Three Gorges Dam where China is undertaking one of the most ambitious construction projects in the world. More than one million people will be displaced, as more than 1,000 towns and villages are affected by the project. Cranes are everywhere; many of the displaced villages are being rebuilt away from rising waters. Jeff and Peter travel up the Yangtze River to Dachang, a 1,700-year-old city that is now metres underwater. Travelling up the Yangtze, the boys are moved by the incredible, picturesque landscape they encounter. Testing their mettle at dragon boat racing and rock climbing, Peter and Jeff move on to something they are a little more skilled at: shooting the scenery.
