We’ve suggested it before, but is this just a bit of fun or for real?

When you’re on a bit of a working vacation, the last thing you want is to be groped by a stranger.

MODERN Family star Sarah Hyland was allegedly indecently assaulted as she posed with fans outside a function in The Rocks last night.

The 23-year-old left the Qantas sponsored event at The Sebel Pier One visibly upset shortly after the alleged attack at 7.50pm on Hickson Rd.

After the Sydney man, 29, allegedly touched her, Ms Hyland pointed at him and reportedly told him “don’t touch me there” before security detained the man until police arrived. Continue reading »

Modern Family land in Australia to shoot vacation episode Continue reading »

ModernFamilyMCThis morning, Qantas announced they were partnering with Twentieth Century Fox Television to bring the cast of Modern Family down under to Australia to shoot a vacation episode.  We received a press release from Network Ten in Australia who broadcasts the show there which mentioned an interview they had done with the show’s Jesse Tyler Fergusson where he said “The wedding episode will not be here (Australia), I guarantee you that. We could do it in New Zealand though. Sounds like I just laid down the challenge. Come on Australia, pull it together.”

We suggested that this was a something that Prime and Sky might like to consider taking up after their recent acquisition of the show due to the renegotiation of the Fox deal after Mediaworks went into receivership.

The idea was welcomed by the new rights holder who thought it was an amazing opportunity.  Continue reading »

ModernFamilyMCNetwork Ten in Australia have just announced that Qantas is partnering with Twentieth Century Fox Television to bring the entire cast of Modern Family to Australia to film a vacation episode down under.

Last year, on Ten’s new breakfast program, Wake Up, Jesse Tyler Ferguson confessed that he doubted Cameron and Mitchell would tie the knot in Australia due to country’s same-sex marriage laws though.  However, he said: “The wedding episode will not be here, I guarantee you that. We could do it in New Zealand though. Sounds like I just laid down the challenge. Come on Australia, pull it together.”

So, Prime/Sky, Since New Zealand is on the way, why not see if the new Twentieth Century Fox Television deal can get some production locally as well?

What say you?

Stan Lee to cameo on Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.

The legendary comics writer has let slip that he’ll be appearing in an upcoming episode of Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., describing his part as a “big role” in an episode likely to air in February as part of the USA sweeps period. His appearance on S.H.I.E.L.D. comes at the right time: the show is struggling in the ratings, amid poor reviews from critics and low engagement with fans – a fear voiced by some analysts who worried that viewers would reject a product that was not at the level of the existing cinematic universe. Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. debuts on TV2 soon, as part of their new season lineup. Continue reading »

This is somewhat good news but does this mean that TVNZ have missed out entirely?

SKY Television has secured a content package deal with 20th Century Fox Television which will see a range of content screen across the network’s channels, both pay and free-to-air.

SKY’s Director of Programming, Travis Dunbar, says the deal will put an end to Kiwi viewers’ speculation on how they can catch up with their favourite FOX series.

“We are excited to give critically acclaimed series Homeland, The Americans and American Horror Story a home on SoHo, SKY’s premium drama channel.  These dramas are made for US pay networks to screen un-cut and uninterrupted and in a prime time slot – making them perfect to include in our SoHo schedule.”  Continue reading »

ladygagasimpsonsThe pursuit of an output deal with Fox has come to and end for Mediaworks ahead of its sale to the new company tomorrow meaning that hit shows Bones, Modern Family and The Simpsons will be gone from the lineup.

While this isn’t ideal for Mediaworks, the output deal they were after that would allow them to pick and choose the shows they wanted, may end up becoming a reality for the new company which it is understood are now negotiating for the same arrangement.  That is unless Sky decides to cement their dominance on content and takes Fox’s entire package.  It would be great for Prime, but not so much for Mediaworks.
