The cast of Jersey Shore are reuniting for a Hurricane Sandy benefit later this month where they will raise money for the restoration effort in their hometown of Seaside Heights, New Jersey. The one-hour special will be called Restore the Shore.

Kiwi IndyCar driver Scott Dixon may soon be featuring in an American reality series alongside other drivers and their partners.

Dixon said he and wife, former British 800m runner Emma Davies-Dixon, may be involved in a pilot called IndyCar Couples that is being considered for production.

“I know there’s a pilot [which has] been floating round at the moment … named IndyCar Couples,” he said.

Tina Fey has dropped a few hints regarding US Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte’s upcoming cameo on 30 Rock. Fey said on the Emmy’s red carpet: “He played – if I may use this term on television – a sex idiot. He was good at it!.”

The creators of How I Met Your Mother have confirmed that they are writing the eighth season of the sitcom as if it’s the last. However, they did say that they have a plan B if they are picked up for another season.

New Zealand actress Rose McIver has landed herself the lead role in a new MTV project in the US.

The project is based on the Eric Garcia book Cassandra French’s Finishing School for Boys.

Hatcher believes Housewives finale will be better than others

Desperate Housewives actress Teri Hatcher has said that the final episode of the drama series will be better than other big finales on TV. “I feel like [the series finale] does a pretty good job at honouring all the different characters and their sort of unique wheelhouses that they brought… to Desperate Housewives. Whether it be comedy or drama or physical comedy, I feel like the stories make sense. I think it will be better than some other big finales.”

Keisha Castle-Hughes has landed a role in a new sci-fi pilot in the US.

The actress, who is currently featuring in TV3’s Almighty Johnsons, will take on the role of Priya in the time-travel drama Rewind.

Her character is described as a “behavioral anthropologist who provides analytical context to the project and the missions, and whose knowledge of history extends beyond the boundaries of fact”.

Castle-Hughes is joined by Jennifer Ferrin (Life on Mars, Fringe), Robbie Jones (One Tree Hill, ER, Southland) and Keon Mohajeri (Flashpoint) in the pilot. Continue reading »
