NZI Business

While several names have been bandied around as a replacement for departed Breakfast host Paul Henry, the one that seems to be sticking is that of Corin Dann.

The NZI Business host impressed during TVNZ’s coverage of the Pike River mine disaster and has emerged as the frontrunner to take over the coveted morning role.

TVNZ spokesperson Andi Brotherston described his performance as “terrific:.

“I think it’s fair to say if what Corin did this week was a job interview, it was a very good job interview. I’m sure he will be very happy with his work.”

It is understood that is Dann were to take over the role, he would partner Alison Mau on Breakfast in the new year while current presenter Pippa Wetzell was absent on maternity leave.

Brotherston has confirmed that the decision on who would be taking over Henry’s role would be made by TVNZ’s head of news and current affairs Anthony Flannery in the next two to three weeks.

Corin Dan asks Bill English a question with a series of intense frowns and hand guestures and Bill fires back with equal frowns, etc, all the while his eyes looks like they’re reading the already prepared answers.

Man they both must fancy themselves as pretty good thespians eg when its a hurty the purse one both of thier facials go into overdrive, Bill wins cause he can do the drop top brow to conceal part of his rapidly moving irises, try it yourself it’s a tuffy.

TVNZ’s Business Editor, Corin Dann and his wife Lotta have announced the arrival of their third son.
