1000 Robota from Hamburg is a unique band. Before the three musicians started to really attract attention in Germany, they were already successful in the UK. Shortly after the release of their debut single “Hamburg brennt” (Hamburg’s burning), the high school students were playing sold-out gigs in London. The British music public, a tough crowd to please, were convinced by their fresh punk sound and German lyrics. “1000 Robota” wants to continue building on that initial success –  their second album is due out in late 2009, and they’re also planning to release a film called “Hamburg brennt,” documenting their lives between the stage and school, between clubs in England and Germany. popXport caught up with “1000 Robota” at a concert in Berlin.
