Netball-Constellation-CupIn case you thought there wasn’t enough great sport on at the moment, old rivals the Silver Ferns and the Australian Diamonds will go head to head again from Sunday for the Constellation Cup.  Such a shame we don’t have any anti-siphoning laws in New Zealand as you’ll need a Sky Subscription to watch these matches.

One of the most competitive trans-Tasman rivalries continues in 2013, the Silver Ferns are taking on Australia in five tests in the New World Constellation Cup and SKY Sport has all the LIVE coverage of these exciting fixtures.

SKY Sport commentators Lesley Murdoch, Belinda Colling, Adine Wilson and Rikki Swannell will be calling the action for both New Zealand matches. Pre-match coverage will be provided by Melodie Robinson and former Silver Fern Temepara George. Continue reading »

2013_rugby_league_world_cup_belong_logoUnlike most World Cup events that typically take place every 4 years, the Rugby League World Cup is a little less regular.  The Kiwis won the last tournament, five years ago in 2008.  The Cup before then was 8 years earlier in 2000.

The event kicks off in the UK on October 26th, 2013.

Rugby League fans will get to watch the Kiwis as they attempt to defend the Rugby League World Cup with SKY Sport screening LIVE coverage of every match of the tournament.

manchester-united-revenue-slipsThe guys at Coliseum Sports Media must be spitting tacks.  Having out bid Sky Television for the EPL rights, a lot of the games are going to end up screening on Sky Sports anyway after some deals scored them all home and away games from Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.  Granted, they’re delayed, but considering the time zone difference I hardly doubt it will matter.

Manchester United and SKY have today announced a three-year agreement to bring its dedicated TV channel, MUTV to New Zealand which will include delayed coverage of Manchester United EPL matches.

With close to 1.5million New Zealanders viewing a Manchester United game last season, SKY is confident that MUTV will be popular with the county’s fanatical sports fans. Continue reading »

SKY Sport’s proven and experienced commentary team of Grant Nisbett, Justin Marshall, Tony Johnson, as well as Scotty Stevenson, Melodie Robinson and Ian Smith will be there providing all the analysis and insights for New Zealand matches.

The All Blacks have a perfect Rugby Championship record, with six wins, zero losses, and will welcome back captain Richie McCaw after he missed the June Internationals against France. Continue reading »

tall-blacks-logoHaving dominated the NBL for the last three years thanks to the New Zealand Breakers, NZ Basketball is in pretty good shape.  You’d have to be pretty siding with the Kiwi’s to take out this series though, for sure.

The New Zealand Breakers got the party started early with an impressive three-peat, Steven Adams got scooped up by one of the best NBA teams in the league and now the Tall Blacks are playing at home for the first time in four years – 2013 is shaping up to be a great year for basketball in New Zealand. moscow-2013-iaafThere are never enough athletics on Television so the International Association of Athletes Federation’s World Championship event in Moscow should make for some good viewing, despite the somewhat unfortunate timezone difference.

SKY Sport has LIVE coverage of the IAAF World Championships in Moscow and another World Championship gold medal beckons for Valerie Adams in the nine-day athletics spectacle.

Adams won the shot put gold at the Beijing and London Olympics, as well as finishing first at the 2007, 2009 and 2011 World Championships and is favoured to stand at the top of the podium again in Moscow this month.
