Hulk returning to TV

ABC has announced they are developing a new Hulk television series 28 years after Lou Ferrigno last featured as The Hulk on TV. The studio which produced the original series will once again tackle the Marvel comic book hero, saying they are in the early stages of development.

Prison Break actor linked to Spartacus

Former Prison Break actor Wentworth Miller has been linked to the second season of Spartacus: Blood & Sand after lead Andy Whitfield was forced to leave the series for good following a return of his cancer. 

Jackson developing detective drama

Samuel L. Jackson is developing a new detective drama series called Hawkshaw which will focus on a young man who believes himself to be either a descendant of Sherlock Holmes or the great man himself. Jackson will work on the series with his Lakeview Terrace collaborator David Loughery. 

Casualty actor dies

British actor Simon MacCorkindale, who featured on English series Casualty, has died after a lengthy battle with cancer. The actor, who played Harry Harper on the BBC hospital series, passed away in London, aged 58.

Leoni developing new comedy

A new comedy series is being developed with actress Tea Leoni that will reportedly be set in the New York fashion industry. The actress is said to be playing one half of a dysfunctional partnership between two women who clash over their approaches to family and career.

Punk’d to be revived with Justin Bieber?

Deadline is reporting that MTV is set to revive reality prank series Punk’d with Justin Bieber attached to host. Original host and creator Ashton Kutcher is said to be producing the revival with plans to premiere next year.

Spartacus producers begin recasting

The producers of Spartacus: Blood & Sand have started the recasting process to replace lead actor Andy Whitfield. They are looking for a male in their mid to late 30s with an authentic British accent and who is willing to commit to a three-year deal. Entertainment Weekly has reported that their pick for the role would be Australian actor Grant Bowler, who featured as Wolf on Outrageous Fortune.

Home and Away actor returns

Actor Zac Drayson will return to Home and Away later on this year to reprise his role as foster child Will Smith after leaving the show in 2002. Drayson featured on the soap for four years from 1998 before leaving after marrying Gypsy Nash.

Vergara to develop new comedy series

Modern Family actress Sofia Vergara is finalising a deal to produce a new comedy series which is based on popular Spanish series Aqui no hay quien viva, which loosely translates to I Hate This Place. The series follows a father and son who share an apartment with their eccentric family and who work together to manage their outrageous antics.

Kardashians to launch new reality series

Sisters Kourtney and Kim Kardashian are set to launch a new reality show which will centre on the pair in New York. The sisters previously featured together on E! reality series Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Spartacus lead to be recast

The Starz network behind the Spartacus: Blood & Sand series is looking to recast the lead role of Spartacus left vacant by departed actor Andy Whitfield who is sidelined by a return of his non-Hodgkin lymphoma. A new actor will most likely fill in the role for the second season of the series which is behind schedule.

Lost actor to guest on HIMYM

Former Lost actor Jorge Garcia will make a guest appearance on the new season of How I Met Your Mother, playing an old college friend of Ted (Josh Radnor) and Marshall (Jason Segel).

Ruffalo developing drama series

Actor Mark Ruffalo is developing a new drama series in the US which will see him star and produce alongside fellow actor Anthony Edwards. The drama will be based around two partners running a crisis management firm.

Conchords make Simpsons appearance

Flight of the Conchords made their appearance on The Simpsons last night in the US, voicing characters for the cartoon. Bret and Jemaine played camp counsellors at a music camp where Lisa .and a few of the Glee kids visit.

Boardwalk Empire renewed for second season

After airing only one episode of new gangster series Boardwalk Empire, HBO has renewed it for a second season. The pilot episode was the most watched HBO premiere since 2004’s Deadwood. The series screens here soon on Sky Movies.

Spartacus future uncertain

The future of gladiator series Spartacus: Blood & Sand is uncertain following actor Andy Whitfield’s cancer flare-up recently, which has ruled him out of the second season. The series was expected to begin production this month with an air date of January next year.

Paltrow to appear on Glee

Glee has signed Gwyneth Paltrow to appear in the second season of the show in a role which will see the actress showcasing her singing and dancing skills. Paltrow will play a substitute teacher who takes over temporarily from Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison).

Heroes actress to play infamous killer

Heroes actress Hayden Panettiere has been signed to portray a controversial convicted killer in an upcoming TV movie. The actress will play Amanda “Foxy Knoxy” Knox who was convicted of killing her roommate in Italy after she failed to participate in a sexual activity taking place with others.
