STRIKE BACK

Action Series

In Budapest, Section 20 tracks a pair of suicide bombers who could bring the city – and the World Security Summit – to its knees. The plot thickens when Akmal Ramiz, a Pakistani general-turned-presidential candidate, is abducted while en route to the summit, providing Latif with additional leverage against Grant and her team. After Scott makes a stomach-churning discovery while hunting his prey on the subway, Stonebridge rushes to the Palace courtyard in a desperate attempt to stop the second suspect before he can detonate a VX-laden bomb amidst a throng of summit attendees. When the Section 20 crib is exposed, Grant finds herself in a compromising position that forces her to reveal the truth about her past… and a covert Iraqi operation known as “Trojan Horse”.

This high-octane thriller follows Stonebridge and Scott as they criss-cross the globe on the trail of a deadly international terrorist named Latif, who is planning a major attack involving a cache of WMD (Weapons of Mass Destruction) that could have global repercussions. When we re-join the two protagonists after the London 2012 Olympic Games, Scott and Stonebridge find themselves held captive with the four EU hostages in the wilderness of Kosovo. As Grant and her team in Vienna work feverishly to locate the group, the local drug overlord Hasani sets in motion his plan to eliminate everyone but Dana, who will fetch a good price as a sex slave, and Allen, the double agent who has been providing information to Latif.

With an assist from an unexpected ally, Scott and Stonebridge extricate the group from captivity, but find even more perilous encounters on the road to freedom. As the body count inexorably rises, another twisted facet of Latif’s dark empire surfaces… a human “organ farm” whose next harvest may come from a Section 20 agent.

With Scott forced to the sidelines in a Sudan hospital, Stonebridge heads out with Crawford and Jacoub on the trail of Clare, who’s been dragged by Tahir to a Janjaweed camp. The trio execute an improbable rescue of Clare and Nijam (the son of a woman slaughtered in the original attack on the clinic), but the Janjaweed are in hot pursuit. Meanwhile, Grant threatens Maggie to keep her from breaking the story, while Scott finds that hospitals can be hazardous to your health. As events come to a head, Stonebridge presses Crawford to reveal the name of Latif’s contact within MI6 – but the arms dealer won’t budge while his daughter’s safety is in doubt.

Action Series

In order to force the delivery of a cache of weapons to war-torn Darfur, Janjaweed terrorists abduct Clare Somersby, a refugee-clinic doctor whose father is Latif’s chief armourer, British arms dealer Gerald Crawford. The kidnapping gives Section 20 a lead on Latif, albeit through an alliance with Crawford, whose weapons were most likely used in the assaults in New Delhi and Cape Town. Though Stonebridge holds Crawford personally responsible for past carnage, he and Scott are forced to pose as Crawford’s aides in Sudan during negotiations spearheaded by Matak, a corrupt government minister. With an inquisitive American journalist (and occasional Scott paramour) named Maggie and her local guide Jacoub in tow, the Section 20/Crawford entourage arrange a rendezvous to secure Clare’s release in exchange for cash. However, it’s soon apparent that the Janjaweed leader, Tahir, wants more than money before he’ll part ways with his hostage.
