8:30pm Tuesday, November 16 on TV2

The ninth season of hit reality series The Celebrity Apprentice comes to TV2 this week with another all-star line up as they compete to raise over a million dollars for various charities.

The contestants will not be vying for a job with Donald Trump, but all 14 celebrities will be competing in business driven tasks around New York City, using their fame along with their proven business acumen to win challenges, and raise money and awareness for their respective causes.

Just as in the regular The Apprentice format, the celebrities will be subjected to long hours, gruelling mental challenges, personality clashes, and intense scrutiny – all without the help of their regular support system of agents, managers, and personal assistants.

Poison frontman and Rock Of Love frontman Bret Michaels has stepped up to the plate this season and told Artisan News he is excited by the challenge ahead. “Here’s what’s amazing about The Celebrity Apprentice: You’ve got so many different types of personalities, all of them which are a-type personalities, all of them are entrepreneurs in their own right, whether they’re comedians, actors, musicians,” he says.

“You’re here with people that are competitors, people that are in sports, and all of us probably have the exact same goal which is to win and raise a lot of money for charity. But the battle and the true fight comes on how we plan on getting there and I can tell you right now, there will be warfare, because not all of us are going to agree,” he continues.

Although the war is going to be fierce, celebrity contestant Sharon Osbourne believes her ability to multi task will give her a competitive advantage over the other contestants. “I think one of my best business qualities is I can juggle a lot,” she says. “I can take on a lot of different tasks and do it all. I’m not one of these people that can do just one task at a time and I think that comes with being a woman, I think woman are good at juggling lots of different things at the same time.”

Osbourne also believes she has the ability to sell almost anything. “I feel if I had to sell a car – and I know nothing about cars – I think that I could do it, I could come up with reasons why you should have that car. So I think that’s probably what I’m best at in business.”

Cyndi Lauper is another of the celebrity contestants this time around and she believes her experiences living and working in New York will give her the edge she needs to be successful in The Celebrity Apprentice. “New York is an advantage to work in because it has great resources,” she says. “There are many things that you can do, there are many things that you can access here. This is one of the greatest cities in the world and I feel it was a blessing and privilege to be born in New York – I travel everywhere, I’d rather live here.”

Other celebrity contestants include actress Holly Robinson Peete, celebrity chef Curtis Stone, former World Wrestling Entertainment diva Maria Kanellis, Olympic gold medal swimmer Summer Sanders, actor and wrestler Bill Goldberg, Victoria’s Secret angel Selita Ebanks, Olympic gold medal sprinter Michael Johnson, former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, baseball star Darryl Strawberry, stand-up comedian Sinbad, and writer and comedian Carol Leifer.
