The Friday Night Project is the hilarious entertainment show, hosted by British comics Justin Lee Collins and Alan Carr, that features a different celebrity every week. This week, Mischa Barton is in the hot seat.

Filmed in front of a live studio audience, the show features comedy sketches, hidden camera stunts and prizes. Topical comedy monologue, lucky audience members winning fabulous prizes, and a band or music act to close the show – The Friday Night Project is entertainment programming at its best.
On tonight’s hilarious first episode, Mischa Barton opens the show with a topical comedy monologue. This will be followed by footage of a bonding session with the comics filmed early in the week, and ends with a hilarious dream sequence comedy sketch. Next comes a spoof news bulletin read by Mischa and one of the comics, who recount the week’s most amusing stories and perform a topical sketch.

Throughout the show, the comics compete to prove who knows the most about Mischa and each recruit half of the studio audience to play along. The winner then runs into their side of the audience wearing the ‘Coat of Cash’ – a jacket covered in money – and the audience members get to keep whatever they can grab. Next up is a series of hidden camera stunts where Mischa plays tricks on unsuspecting members of the public, with surprising and amusing consequences. The audience are then invited to ask her anything, and they can answer in any way they want – serious, funny, honest – while the comics chip in.

The show climaxes with a game show finale, which features three rounds inspired by the Mischa’s most famous moments or from the week’s news, with one lucky audience member winning a great prize. A band or music act then closes the show.

The format is the same each week, with the celebrity host and musical acts changing. It is a guaranteed laugh, as viewers witness their favourite celebrities in situations they have never seen them in before! In upcoming shows, look forward to guests such as Rob Lowe, Jerry Springer, Rupert Everett, Christian Slater and Jamie Oliver.

The Friday Night Project screens Fridays at 9.25pm on TV2.
