Some are calling it the greatest television interview of the millennium, but whether you’re a fan of Madonna or not, her turn on The Graham Norton Show on Friday, February 3rd at 9pm on 3, is worth tuning into – even just to see Graham Norton struck down by “fandom”.

Tomorrow night sees Graham welcoming his “dream guest” to the sofa. Talking about everything from her upcoming album, her new movie, and her supposed rivalry with Lady Gaga, Madonna left Graham raving.

“Still high on Madonna love,” he said afterwards.

But it was the Material Girl’s thoughts on Lady Gaga that surprised the king of talk most.

Unlike the snide remarks that she made in previous interviews, where she referred to comparisons of herself to Gaga as “reductive”, Madonna actually gave the pop princes a compliment.

In fact, she agreed that they share a similar sense of humour and that Gaga is quite talented as a performer.

“When I first saw her I was really impressed by her and she was cool,” Madonna revealed during the interview. “She did remind me of me back in the day.” Adding: “I do think she is very talented.”

As well as her praise of Gaga, tomorrow night’s interview also sees the legendary entertainer reveal the name of her upcoming album; whether she will ever walk down the aisle again; and exclusive details about her new movie, W.E..

Make sure not to miss all this when Graham Norton welcomes Madonna to the sofa on Friday, February 3rd at 9pm on 3.

9:30pm – Friday, December 23 on TV 3

This week sees funny-man Graham Norton celebrating Christmas the only way he knows how – with a very special, very naughty, Christmas themed The Graham Norton Show, screening on Friday, December 23 rd at 9:30pm on 3.

This week’s The Graham Norton Show special, featuring interviews with Matt Smith and Russell Kane, is a traditional Christmas episode – with a twist.

Norton explains that the goal of any episode is always laughs – in a naughty sort of way.

“We think about what’s funny rather than what’s shocking,” the comedian explains.

“We don’t set out to shock. We set out to amuse. But it’s just a lot of things that make us laugh do tend to be quite rude and a bit, yeah, school boyish.”

And a big part of the fun is watching the celebrity guests react to that school boyishness. “I think a lot of celebrities are sort of nervous, thinking something awful is going to happen,” Norton explains. “But I think, by and large, if you talked to any of the celebrities that have been on the show, they will say they had a nice time – unless you bump into Harvey Keitel.”

Hopefully this week’s guests will prove to be less prudish than the Pulp Fiction star. Make sure not to miss them when The Graham Norton Show Christmas special screens on Friday, December 23 rd at 9:30pm on 3.

Top-rating local comedy 7 Days and 3 News’ election coverage are two highlights of a strong month of growth for TV3, which saw significant gains in the key 25-54 demographic, while TV One continued to lose ground.

In November, TV3 grew it’s primetime share of the 25-54 audience by 15.8%, compared with the previous month, moving ahead of TV One, which dropped by 8.6%.

Top-performing programmes included 7 Days, The Graham Norton Show, NCIS, Inside Child Poverty – A Special Report, WannaBen, The X-Factor USA, Missing Pieces, as well as movies I Robot and It’s Complicated.

MediaWorks’ Group Managing Director, Sussan Turner, says the 25-54 growth sets TV3 up for a strong finish to 2011, and bodes well for the New Year.

“It’s very pleasing to have success like this right across the primetime schedule from comedy and drama to entertainment and documentary.  These results are a testament to Director of Programming, Kelly Martin, News and Current Affairs Director, Mark Jennings, and their teams, and demonstrate our two-channel strategy is paying off.

“I’d also like to congratulate everyone involved with 7 Days, which was November’s No. 1 show, and pay tribute to the entire 3 News team for the quality of our top-rating Decision ’11 coverage.”

7 Days was the No. 1 programme in November for the 25-54 audience, across all networks.

TV3 reached another 25-54 milestone when 3 News’ Decision ’11 election special won the 25-54 demographic from TV One for the first time in the network’s history.  Presented by John Campbell and Duncan Garner, the election special was watched by 23% more 25-54 year-olds than TV One.**
