The creators of The Inbetweeners have played down talk of a movie sequel after the UK tabloids reported that it was locked in to film in Australia. They said in a post: “The Sun went rifling and found some stuff out about a sequel. Nothing’s signed yet, and Australia is just one of the ideas we’re kicking around, but we hope to have a new and definitely final film for you some time next year.”

The co-creator of The Inbetweeners, Iain Morris, has said he is keen to create a sequel to the 2011 movie adaptation. “I miss working with Damon [Beesley, co-creator], and I miss the boys. They are four of the most talented comedic actors of their generation, and it would be wonderful to get another project going with them. I can hardly believe it’s been two years since we filmed The Inbetweeners Movie. Damon and I would like to do a sequel.”

Dawn French to judge Australia’s Got Talent

Script nearly complete for Inbetweeners movie sequel

The creators of The Inbetweeners have confirmed they are nearly finished a script for a movie sequel. Iain Morris said: “Inbetweeners fans are more discerning and vocal than people give them credit for. The last thing any of us wants is a cheap cash-in. At the moment the script is at version 0.5, so we’re getting close… but we’re not there yet.”

Joe Biden to guest on Parks and Rec

A reworked Speight’s beer label has made a surprise appearance in the pilot of new American remake of British comedy series The Inbetweeners.

During a scene in which one of the teen characters enters a bottle store, a bottle with the label taken from the kiwi beer appears alongside others of a similar style.

The name has been changed to “Speigle’s” with “Three Star Hooch” replacing the “Gold Medal Ale” tagline that appears on the original. Continue reading »

Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston will direct an upcoming episode of The Office. Cranston, who plays Walter White in Breaking Bad, will helm an episode in the show’s ninth season.

Game of Thrones casts two

A trailer for the Taika Waititi-directed US Inbetweeners remake has come under fire from fans of the original series, leading to co-creator Iain Morris to leap to its defence.

Morris, who created the original UK series, said on Twitter that fans should not be pre-judging the series, which is set to premiere on MTV later in the year.

“I’m not going to comment on the American Inbetweeners a lot because I have to use Twitter for more interesting things like complaining, but the pilot director, Taika Waititi, has made consistently funny TV shows and one of my favourite films of all time in [2010 comedy-drama] Boy. MTV has released the first trailer for the American Inbetweeners remake.

The series, which features actors Bubba Lewis (Simon), Joey Pollari (Will), Mark L Young (Neil) and Zack Pearlman (Jay), is based on the UK series of the same name that ran for three seasons as well as a movie last year.

Cheryl Cole Glee cameo hinted

Glee actress Jane Lynch has said that a cameo from Cheryl Cole on the show is a given. “There’s been talk on set of Cheryl appearing for a year or so, but it’s set to happen now,” she said recently.
