rebecca-wrightFrom 3 News to Campbell Live and then The Paul Henry Show, Rebecca Wright is now transitioning to a whole now broadcaster as she heads to TVNZ and One News according to The Diary.

She will start on March 30.

It’s a savvy move by TVNZ news director John Gillespie, who is keen to capitalise on Wright’s tenacious journalism and presenting skills. She brings much kudos and esteem to the network news team. Wright will replace Erin Conroy, who moves to Seven Sharp. Continue reading »

The Paul and Hilary Show?

tamati-coffey“There will be people on screen with Henry” is all TV3 have revealed about the new Paul Henry breakfast show launching next year. So let’s speculate…

With TVNZ ruling out a return to Breakfast after trying his hand at politics, will we see Tamati Coffey return to morning TV as weather presenter on TV3’s rival show?

Is this something you would like to see? And who else do you think should be part of the new show?

Despite having one of his most memorable moments this last week as Jesse Peach was coaxed into interrupting TV One’s live cross on Tonight, The Paul Henry Show had their average audience fall to 76,565 viewers per night, the second lowest the show has had since its inception.

This 12% fall delivered a much smaller audience for TV3 than Tonight which lifted its average audience by 3% to 118,256 viewers per night.

After it was announced that The Paul Henry Show would be vacating its late night news and current affairs timeslot so Mr Henry could take up a role in breakfast television (and radio), there was no real change to the average audience. Up by an even smaller percent than Seven Sharp this week, 84,994 viewers per night tuned in.

Tonight was up 8%, however, with an average audience of 103,576.
