The UK Apprentice

UK Apprentice
Tuesday 18 December, 8.30pm

Ten candidates are left in the running to become Sir Alan Sugar’s UK Apprentice, and tonight they are confronted with naked women and given the task of flogging modern art (at 8.30pm on TV ONE).

Paul can’t believe they’re a proper subject for family viewing, and project manager Rachel has an uphill struggle with the rest of her team – Impact. Matthew proudly boasts that he wouldn’t recognise a Damien Hirst if it fell on him.
On the other team – Firste Forte – project manager Sebastian and team-mate James ooze with charm and effortlessly assimilate themselves into the British art scene. The smooth-talking guys are coasting their way to victory – but the work of their chosen artist is pricey and it doesn’t sell easily on the night. As usual the tension mounts, tempers are lost and someone will be fired.

The UK Apprentice, Big Love and Damages will take a break next week for Christmas and will return the following week.

The UK Apprentice
Tuesday 20 November, 8.30pm

Fourteen candidates, two eagle-eyed advisors and one self-made millionaire. The UK Apprentice sees Sir Alan Sugar test the nerves and brains of 14 hungry hopefuls in the business world as they compete to win a six-figure salary job as his apprentice (tonight at 8.30pm on TV ONE).

Over 12 weeks, the candidates are split into two teams and given a weekly task with which to demonstrate their entrepreneurial abilities. Modelled on the American series, which stars entrepreneur Donald Trump, the British show sees the winning team avoid eliminations and win a taste of the executive lifestyle in the form of a luxury treat.
The losing team are summoned to the boardroom to defend their respective corners. The project manager is forced to pick two people in their team who will join them and face hearing the dreaded words: “You’re fired.”

After 12 weeks, Sir Alan will be left with his apprentice, who will be hired by his company AMSTRAD and receive a salary of £100,000.

Episode ones sees the 14 hopefuls introduced to the competition. During the series the candidates will live and work together; their stamina; their intelligence; and their ruthlessness will determine who will be The Apprentice. In the cut-throat world of business where the winner takes all, the losers will walk away empty handed – and this week someone is going to get fired.
