Following on from last night’s post about the new shows coming to TV One, here’s what’s instore for TV2 in 2012.

First off, a rebrand.  If my assumptions are correct, think the TV One logo but take the “One” out of the circle and put the current “2” inside it.  This would certainly bring some consistency between the channels.

Shortland Street will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2012 while Go Girls will be back for a fourth season.  The trailer shows Kevin returning from Thames to tell the girls that he thinks he’s just left his wife.  Considering Zoe Cramond (Amanda) is now a regular on Packed to the Rafters in Australia, that’s probably why.

TV2 seemed to be a bit light on the big new dramas to fill the gaps of final seasons of Desperate Housewives and Grey’s Anatomy but there are some good new shows in there. Continue reading »

9:30pm Wednesday, July 27 on TV2

The director of The Shawshank Redemption and the producer of The Terminator and Aliens are behind TV2’s brand new drama, the epic survival adventure series, The Walking Dead.

After waking from a coma in an abandoned hospital, police officer Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln, Love Actually, Wuthering Heights) finds the world he knew gone – ravaged by a zombie epidemic of apocalyptic proportions.

Nearby, on the outskirts of Atlanta, a small encampment struggles to survive as ‘the dead’ stalk them at every turn. Can Rick and the others hold onto their humanity as they fight to live in this terrifying new world? And, amidst dire conditions and personal rivalries, will they ultimately survive one another?

In the premiere episode, Rick searches for his family after emerging from the coma. Along the way, he meets Morgan and Duane, who help teach him the new rules for survival.

It’s more solid programming from TV2 in 2011 with some excellent content.  The only thing obviously missing was any sign of new local shows on TV2.
