Sheen criticises Kutcher

Charlie Sheen has finally attacked Ashton Kutcher or taking his place on Two and a Half Men last year. Sheen told TMZ Live: “I’m tired of lying, I’m tired of pretending like the show doesn’t suck, I’m tired of pretending like Ashton doesn’t suck, I’m tired of pretending like they’re not completely adrift. When you take away the anchor from your show, which they stupidly did, you go adrift.”

Doctor Who to film in Spain?

Reports are suggesting the new season of Doctor Who will film in Spain in February. Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill, who play Amy and Rory, will both exit the show midway through the season.

Cowell suggests super final

Simon Cowell has suggested the idea of a super final between the next winners of The X Factor USA, American Idol and The Voice. Cowell tweeted:  “We have a few surprises to announce soon. This is getting interesting… Maybe the winner of @TheXFactorUSA this yr should compete with winner of The Voice & Idol in a super final. Just a thought. I’d be up for it.”

Aguilera signs on for The Voice season three

Christina Aguilera has reportedly signed on to continue as a coach on The Voice into its third season. The second season of the show has just begun screening in the US.

Stamos joins comedy pilot

John Stamos is said to have signed up for a role in a new comedy pilot called Little Brother. The pilot focusses on a man who discovers he has a half-brother.

Portman developing drama

Natalie Portman will executive produce a new drama pilot for the ABC network called Scruples. The project is based on the 1978 novel of the same name by Judith Krantz.

Jones and Scherzinger’s exits confirmed

The Fox network has officially confirmed that Steve Jones and Nicole Scherzinger will both be leaving The X Factor USA. Paula Abdul is also rumoured to be on the way out.

X Factor USA host Steve Jones has announced he is leaving the show and Nicole Scherzinger is also believed to be stepping down as judge.

The Welsh presenter took to Twitter to announce the news that he will not be returning to the series this year.

He wrote: “I wont be hosting next seasons X Factor which is a shame but I cant complain as I’ve had a great time. Good luck to everyone on the show (sic).”

Rumours of Jones’s axing first surfaced last December, with many predicting that he wouldn’t survive the shake-up planned for the show this year.

Meanwhile Entertainment Weekly is reporting today that sources close to the show have confirmed that Scherzinger will not be returning as a judge on the show.

Bowler lands lead role in sci-fi series

Aussie/kiwi actor Grant Bowler has picked up a lead role in a new series for the Syfy network in the US called Defiance, which centres on the war between humans and aliens.

Goldblum joins Glee

Jeff Goldblum has joined the cast of Glee to play the father of one of the characters. Goldman will join actor Brian Stokes Mitchell in playing the role of Rachel’s gay adoptive fathers.

15-year-old rapper Astro, who reached the finals of The X Factor USA, has signed a record deal with his mentor L.A. Reid’s label Epic Records.

Jackson talks up Idol

American Idol judge Randy Jackson has called the singing series “the Picasso of its kind”. “There is a bit of real reality to this show. It’s really real and very honest. What you see is what you get. There isn’t a lot of gamesmanship going on or whatever. If somebody is really talented, whatever the flavour of the talent is – country, rock, R&B, blues, jazz, whatever it is – we’re going to embrace that and nurture it. “

The Good Wife adds Dajani

The Good Wife has added The Big C actress Nadia Dajani to its cast. Dajani will play the elder sister of Josh Charles’ Will.

Hanks working on animated series

Tom Hanks is developing a new animated TV series with Yahoo called Electric City. The actor will lend his voice to the lead character in the show, which is the first scripted series to be produced by Yahoo.

X Factor USA to undergo changes

Fox entertainment chief Kevin Reilly has said that The X Factor USA will undergo some “tweaks” ahead of its second season. Reilly said:  “There will be some tweaks to the show, but I’ll tell you, I’m very happy to have it and it’s gonna be part of us for a long time.”

Glee actors returning

Glee actors Chris Colfer and Le Michele have both confirmed they will be returning to the series for its fourth season. There had been rumours the pair were going to feature in a spin-off series when the third season finished.

Party Down movie in the works

Party Down actress Megan Mullally has confirmed that a movie based on the cancelled comedy series is on the way. The actress claims that the series’ co-creator John Enblom is currently writing the script.
