Ty’s Great British Adventure

7:00pm Saturday, May 12 on Prime

Reality Series

The locals of Portishead were devastated when the council announced it was closing their much-loved open air swimming pool. The community rallied round and persuaded the council to hand their pool back to them. There’s only one problem – there’s months of work to be done and a very short deadline. In just seven days Ty Pennington and the people of Portishead must reopen and renovate their neglected open air swimming pool and transform it into a Mediterranean-style oasis ready in time for the vital summer season. Ty and his helpers must clear out the pool, transform the changing rooms, install a children’s wet play area, fit solar heating, and redecorate this special place in the hearts of the Portishead community. In this episode, with the grand opening just 24 hours away, the project has been delayed by rainstorms. If there’s any chance of celebrations tomorrow Ty and the volunteers will have to work late into the night!

FRIDAY 24th July 7:30PM

Lifestyle

Ty Pennington is a major star in the US and is famous for making the impossible become a reality. He’s crossed the pond to Britain where he has a new mission; to put the heart back into a community that’s lost its soul. Portreath on the beautiful Cornish coastline has been left behind the times and needs a big injection of spirit to restore its local pride.

When Ty finds out that local historian Kate Shaw has had to cancel her annual exhibition for the first time in over thirty years due to illness, he pulls out all the stops to surprise Kate and get the exhibition back on.

On site there’s not going to be much sleep as there’s a desperate race against time to get the project finished on schedule. The volunteers are working hard on the finishing touches, but a paint spill threatens to ruin all their hard work. There’s a very special honour for one local resident. But after a week of hard work, torrential rain, tears and joy – will the grand opening be a success?

FRIDAY 17th July 7:30PM

Lifestyle

Ty Pennington is the USA’s hottest makeover show host and star of Prime’s brand new series. Now he’s crossed the pond and has vowed to clean up Portreath, a small resort in Cornwall.

In decline since the 1960s when the tin mining industry closed down, Portreath’s survival depends on tourism. But the competition is tough. With Padstow and Rock, its two trendier neighbours claiming the majority of visitors, Portreath has to work hard to get on the tourist radar. And, to make things harder, storms earlier this year devastated the town and damaged the village’s only community outdoor area, The Park.

It’s a big challenge. Ty will need to rally all the community representatives and come up with a design that enables the entire village to benefit from The Park. It needs a play park, a new football pitch, seating area for the mums, a store full of the latest sports equipment, and a stunning walk. It must all be fully funded and completed in an aesthetic, environmentally friendly way – all within one week!

Episode Two – Everything’s put behind schedule when torrential rain hits the site. Ty tries to find more volunteers but when the project runs out of materials to surface the play area, only a dash through the night can save it.
