For the first time in the history of The Amazing Race, teams travel to Kazakhstan where a roadblock with over 30,000 chickens awaits, and one team makes a risky move that could prove to be either a game changer or the end of the road.

Setting out from their Pit Stop at Humayun's Tomb in Old Delhi, India, the remaining teams receive a clue instructing them to fly to Kazakhstan where they must find a chicken factory. Sunday 17 May, 7.30pm

Continuing with its New Zealand leg of the trip this week, The Amazing Race sees the seven remaining teams travel from Te Puke to Siem Reap, Cambodia, a first for the series.

Challenged to race across five continents in 23 days, covering over 30,000 miles, the teams must complete tasks in the Tauranga region, in some locations familiar to viewers.

The Amazing Race  Sunday 10 May, 7.30pm

Auckland gets a taste of the action this week with The Amazing Race making its way to our shores for some more thrilling challenges.

This leg of the race is also special for host Phil Keoghan bringing him back to his birth country, which he is always proud to show the world. Keep watch for all the familiar places as the teams steer their way round the city, facing challenges from a slew of Maori warriors performing a haka. While navigating a tricky detour, one racer takes a hard fall and injures her arm with fears it is broken, while another team struggles to keep their relationship intact.

From Auckland teams have to get to Tauranga where a special New Zealander is waiting to welcome them to Phil's New Zealand.

Season 13 Premiere

April 12th, 2009

With passports and maps at the ready, eleven teams are setting out on the race of their lives, travelling over 30,000 miles, and five continents in 23 days, in the new series of TV2’s action adventure show, The Amazing Race.

Starting from the world famous Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, site of the 1932 and 1984 Olympics, the 13th season of The Amazing Race will feature a variety of firsts - including teams travelling to a real-life water world where its inhabitants live upon a floating city and visiting Cambodia and Kazakhstan - and is guaranteed to be the swiftest and toughest race yet.

Executive producer Bertram van Munster has been watching from the side lines for years and says that teams get very tired and cranky. "This is good. It's like a Formula One race, pedal to the metal. You don't stop for pizza."
