New Season Premiere

April 6th, 2009

the BOX – Thursdays from 16 April, 8.30pm

Encores Sundays 9.30pm

The covert Special Forces team are back in the second season of the explosive series.

Operating outside the usual military chain of command and risking their lives on undercover missions at home and abroad, the identities of The Unit are highly classified – a secret that's also fiercely guarded by their wives.

Despite the men's determination to protect their families from the dangers of the job, they've learned that the enemy they have defeated in the field is also capable of bringing the fight right back to their own front door.  It’s a lesson that will prevail in the new season as Jonas (Denis Haysbert) and the men’s wives work on a covert operation of their own, while Mack (Max Martini) becomes preoccupied trying to uncover information about Tiffy's (Abbey Brammwell) affair with Ryan (Robert Patrick) and The Unit welcome a new member to their team.

The Unit pursues a terrorist who’s planning a nuclear holocaust in 3’s action drama The Unit, screening Monday, August 11th at 9:30pm on 3.

One of the series stars, Regina Taylor - who portrays Molly Blane - recently wrote on her TV Guide blog about how proud she is to be part of the hit series, not only because the show continues to be a hit with audiences, but because it spearheads the representation of the African-American community in today's television drama series.

“Jonas Blane [Dennis Haysbert] is the only black lead in a drama on television,” Taylor wrote on her blog. “Jonas and Molly Blane are the only black couple in a drama on TV,” she adds.

Still, the actress clarified that The Unit - an action drama about a top-secret contingent of Special Forces soldiers who operate outside the usual military chain of command - is not about race.

New Series

July 9th, 2008

Monday, July 21st at 9:30pm

A covert team of U.S. Special Forces operatives undertake missions around the world while their wives attempt to carry on a normal life back at home in the return of The Unit (starring Dennis Haysbert and Scott Foley), premiering Monday, June 21st at 9:30pm on 3.

Aside from the top-secret military group that embarks on dangerous missions abroad, the appeal of The Unit also comes from the wives of the team members and how they deal with their lives as part of the military.

Among the female cast members of The Unit, Abby Brammell has distinctly established herself as Tiffy Gerhardt, the wife of Mack 'Dirt Diver' Gerhardt (Max Martini) who is hiding her own dark secrets.

Though Brammell has played various roles on Six Feet Under, The Shield, Birds of Prey, and CSI, she says that there's something special about playing Tiffy that had attracted her to the role.
