At the age of 19. Tommy Lee formed Motley Crue, sending him on a meteoric rise to fame and fortune - there was certainly no time for college. Tommy was busy, touring the world and living the fast life for two glorious, hedonistic decades. Cut to Tommy Lee today. He's a 42-year-old, twice-divorced, single father of two boys. And while most men in their mid-life crisis buy sports cars and try to date younger women, for Tommy that's nothing new! He wants something different, something money can't buy. He wants academic redemption.

Once his proud mother has bid him goodbye and good luck as he leaves home, he's on his own trying to navigate this new, organised and quiet environment. The University of Nebraska won't know what's hit it this semester - it won't be class as usual when the new student is Tommy Lee!

Every episode will find Tommy floundering in a new 'fish-out-of-water' situation. Quintessential college challenges face him - such as finding a dorm-mate, trying out for the debate team, cramming for final exams, and forming a college band. But for Tommy Lee, the biggest challenge of all might be focusing on his chemistry homework when his new tutor is a hot girl!
