Last week fans saw the crowning of Hosea Rosenberg as the season five Top Chef winner, now all 16 season five contestants return to the stage one last time on Top Chef's reunion special, screening on Thursday, May 14th at 7:30pm on 3.

This week's reunion will be dishing out on season five's good, bad and overcooked, but according to Rosenberg it was consistency that in the end trumped over the other contestants, earning him the Top Chef title and $100,000.

"I was inspired by the ingredients," Rosenberg tells American TV Guide about his Top Chef experience. "I cooked meals that I would want to eat. It was a combination of ingredients, cooking techniques, and flavour profiles that I love."

Rosenberg says that despite the pressure of the $100,000 prize money it was his final Top Chef meal that he is most proud of. "It was the first time all season I felt like I was really cooking my own food. I was very happy with each dish."

Rosenberg, who was often considered the underdog in the competition, plans to open a restaurant of his own with his winnings. The chef also says that his new title will allow him to spend more time with his parents.

"My dad is having a serious battle with cancer. He is getting worse," he says. "My mum lives alone and is also dealing with a number of illnesses. This money gives me the freedom to be with them and help them out for a while."

But before he can do this Rosenberg will join his fellow season five contestants, as well as host Padma Lakshmi, head judge Tom Colicchio and judges Gail Simmons and Toby Young when Andy Cohen hosts the Top Chef reunion special.

The reunion will see Cohen answering viewers' burning questions as well as revealing all the juicy behind the scenes stories.
