Trading Spouses Returns

Mums and Dads ditch their own families to take over someone else’s in 3’s reality series Trading Spouses, returning on Thursday, February 8th at 9.30pm on 3.

It seems like a fantasy at first, the ultimate chance to find out if the grass actually is greener on the other side. But the fairytale gets twisted as the new parent moves in, meets the new family and realises it may be way more that he or she bargained for.

While some parents are welcomed with open arms, others face mutiny from their new household, taking family comedy and – drama – to a whole new place.

Families on Trading Spouses each receive a US$50,000 prize for participating in the show, but unbeknownst to the participants (and their families), how the cash is spent will be up to the surrogate parent.

In the first part of our two-part season premiere an organic farmer, who lives off the land in rural Missouri, trades places with a wealthy young housewife from urban Scottsdale, Arizona.

The Zandi family lives in Scottsdale, Arizona where pretty blonde Traci works as a secretary for her husband Ray, who runs a franchise. Her world revolves around her husband who is her boss in all ways: literally at work, and also at home.

Traci considers herself the weaker sex, and depends on Ray to be ‘the man’, and finds it extremely odd to enter the life of the humble Frazier family, who live in a farmhouse out in the country near Licking, Missouri.

Penny Frazier is a smiling, upbeat, yet frumpy, middle-aged woman with buck teeth, and describes herself as an explorer, and a keeper of wisdom and plant medicine. Growing and selling Pinyon pine nuts is her life’s work, and her husband George is one of the greatest blessings.

Find out if lasting friendships are formed and what the reaction is when told that the new mum or dad dictates how the prize money is spent in Trading Spouses, premiering on Thursday, February 8th at 9.30pm.
