Christmas Day With TV2

December 25th, 2009

6:00am Friday, December 25 on TV2

To celebrate Christmas Day, TV2 has a festive and fun-packed line-up of movies for the whole family to enjoy, from dawn until dusk.

For the early risers, A Miser Brother's Christmas, at 7.05am, is a family animation following Santa as he gets stuck in the middle of the Miser brothers' feud. Can the brothers overcome their differences and save Christmas?

In Santa Buddies at 12pm, Puppy Paws, the feisty son of Santa Paws, forgets the true meaning of Christmas, and it's up to the Buddies, a group of puppies - Budderball, B-Dawg, Rosebud, Buddha, and Mudbud - to remind him that Christmas is not about what you get; it's about what you give. Join the Buddies on an exciting journey to the magical world of the North Pole.

One Night Only Another Dud

December 8th, 2009

I think you can tell just by watching the ads that this show will turn out to be as bad or even worse (if possible) than So You Wanna Be a Popstar or Sing Like a Superstar, or whatever they were called.

I see it has washed up 'celebrities' as judges with people such as that ex-Shortland St actor from several years ago and what's-his-name ex-shock-jock radio host/NZ Idol judge. Very exciting...not.

Please tell me this is not a sign of what local television on TVNZ is going to look like in the years to come.

Ugly Betty gets cut up

August 28th, 2009

I've noticed that next Monday, the 31st of August, TV2 is showing Ugly Betty reruns. Fine, nothing wrong with that...except the slot is for half an hour and Betty is a 1 hour shot...seems TV2 has cut the episodes in half with the first half of the one hour episode airing one day and the second half airing the next. (i.e. Monday Part 1 of Episode 1, Season 2 and Tuesday, Part 2 of Episode 1, Season 2)

This seems like an utterly bizarre decision...anyone know why the would do this?

More uproar over TV2's TXT speak

June 9th, 2009

There have already been a number of complaints about TV2's new lets try and be cool TXT speak promos.  You don't have to spend long on twitter in the evenings before you see more people complaining about the dumbing down.  On blogs and forums everywhere, people are complaining about it.  It's just not cool.

As Moata puts it, you're not cool enough for that. You are TVNZ.

I agree.  It's like hearing your mother try and use current slang or see your father dressed up in baggy jeans and a hoodie.  It just doesn't work and the only phrase that comes to mind is "try-hard".  It's ok to just be yourself, you know.
