New Zealand missing out on some great trashy reality shows

July 7th, 2010

The hit ABC show True Beauty is currently screening its second season in the States. It maybe be reality trash but its brilliant and hopefully one of New Zealands TV channels will pick it up ASAP. Other shows we are missing out on are the latest installments of the Bachelor and Bachelorette. The current Bachelorette is one of the best ever... particularly with Justin 'Rated R' Rego, a wrestler from Canada. If TVNZ and TV3 wont pick it up hopefully SKY will. Maybe its about time SKY launced a new channel committed to this type of TV show. If no one comes to the party, the only option maybe tvshack.cc ... dare i say it!

Carly Flynn is pregnant

February 8th, 2010

Carly Flynn announced she was pregnant today on Sunrise.  Wonder who will take her place while she's on leave?  (And, the bigger question, will there be a job for her when she wants to come back?)

Is Alison Mau a lebsian?

February 7th, 2010

The gossip columnists have long been hinting at someone in the media being in a lesbian relationship and today the papers came out with the name: Ali Mau.

Poor old Simon Dallow, ditched by his wife who is now with another woman.

They'll be talking about this one for a while.

When was the last time there was a high profile beautiful outed lesbian in New Zealand?  Can't think of one, can you??

Campbell Live: four month deadline or the show is gone?

January 26th, 2010

Damian Christie blogs:

"The story I've heard from various people at TV3 is that last week the network's new boss, Ian Audsley, rocked into the Campbell Live office and told its executive producer to lift ratings or the show is gone. Four months was a deadline I've heard.

Meanwhile, staff at TV3's summer show @7, which managed okay ratings during the hiatus, are quietly hoping they will be back on air in four months time, when Campbell Live gets the axe. I don't see it happening; it'd probably be far easier and cheaper to put on re-runs of the Simpsons, which performed perfectly well before Campbell Live came along. But you never know, Australian bosses can make interesting choices."

Watching Big Fish on TV One. It's a great movie, but it's really surprising to see it on that channel. @wchettleburgh

I hate how people are confusing 7 DAYS (late nite tv3 comic genius) with @7 (moronic crap, same channel). Why did they name them similarly? @monty64

Wondering why TV3 insists on hiding/playing Eureka at 1pm on a Saturday @finnatic

How come Gerald Tippett is styling the weather guy on tv3? @piratesaregrand

TV3 FTW with the doco on the chocolate guy. I like seeing people with passion on tv @shotbyrobins
