Cindy’s (Aubrey Dollar) computer skills came in handy when she hacks into an online dating website to recover a victim’s details in this week’s action packed Women’s Murder Club, screening Monday, July 28th at 8:30pm on 3.

Aubrey Dollar first entered the entertainment industry in 1993; however Women’s Murder Club is the first time the 27-year-old actress is getting the opportunity to portray a character her own age.

“It's the first time I've gotten to play a role my own age, which is kind of nice,” Dollar, whose previous television credits include the teen dramas Dawson's Creek and Point Pleasant, recently told The News & Observer.

“It's really nice to have adult dialogue, to deal with a natural career and not high school,” she adds.

Based on crime author James Patterson's best-selling novels, Women's Murder Club is the new hit series that centres on the lives of four women; a homicide detective, an assistant district attorney, a medical examiner and a newspaper reporter, who come together to use their expertise and talents in their respective fields to solve murder cases. Dollar portrays Cindy Thomas, the crime reporter for a San Francisco paper.

“She's really intelligent, she's really ambitious, she's the youngest member of the four, and she's the newest to her profession,” Dollar says of her character. “She's really focused, has great instincts, and she's a little socially awkward.”

The show, which also stars Angie Harmon, Laura Harris, Paula Newsome, Tyrees Allen and Rob Estes, has been described by critics as a mixture of Sex and the City and CSI.

Like CSI, forensics plays a big part on Women's Murder Club; however Dollar claims that although she tunes in to forensic shows, she's not much of a fan.

“I have girlfriends who are really, really into them. I certainly like it but I've never been wildly into it,” she says. “I think I have kind of a weak stomach for that sort of thing.”

Having a “weak stomach” for gore has not proven well for Dollar, considering she often has to film scenes in incredibly realistic sets.

“Oftentimes, it's a corpse of someone who's been a character. It's an exact replica. The sweet lady that you've been talking to all week, all of a sudden, she's lying on the table with her stomach open and her brains hanging out, and it's really disgusting!” she explains.

Disgusting or not, that is often the reality of belonging to “the club”. Make sure not to miss this week’s episode when our four ladies solve another puzzling case, Women’s Murder Club screens, Monday, July 28th at 8:30pm on 3.
